wind on top of that. numerous reports of down and even up rooted trees, down wires, streetlights out, winds gusting 51 miles an hour in philadelphia, 52 in wilmington , close to 50 in allentown, high wind warning does remain in effect until 6:00 o'clock tomorrow morning as we will continue, to deal with these strong, intense wind gusts especially over next couple of hours, the snow will start to taper off in the city by eight or 9:00 this evening but maintain those wind gusts to 50 miles an hour potentially throughout overnight period and we could continue to see power outages, peco reporting a quarter million people just in pennsylvania without power, right now and hazardous travel conditions, and we have the mobile weather watcher out checking out the scene, the roadways, mobile weather watcher is monitoring these road conditions as the storm continues to hit our area. this is a live picture on the ben franklin parkway where conditions are, extremely slick. we are dealing with slushy accumulation on the road, reduced visibility as that snow continues to fall heavy

in intensity across the area of course we will have much more on this nor'easter this bombsigh clean and your full forecast coming up in a few minutes, nicole. >> lauren, thank you. there are big delays at 30th street station tonight as a rough commute home for riders, amtrak has cancelled amtrak services on the northeast corridor and keystone line, this until tomorrow due to hazardous conditions. there are also significant delays for septa, and services are suspended until furthest regional rail lines, three other lines are experiencing, delays, up to one hour. new jerseyransit, is experiencing delays of up to 20 minutes on the rails. as the airport tonight american airlines has suspended all flights out of philly international for remainder of the day. hundreds of other flights inbound and outbound have been grounded. many travelers at the airport this morning, only to learn their flight had been cancelled, others, felt really lucky that they arrived before the storm got worse. >> i was really nervous, like,

our weather coverage, continues, tonight, as this nor'easter barrels down, on us , cbs-3 mobile weather watcher is carefully rolling down ben franklin parkway right new a reminder to anyone braving the roads tonight take it slow and watch out for other drivers. in a mix of snow, sleet, ice, rain since this morning power has been a problem for people all over our area.

>> down trees are part of the issue because of the wind crew s have had a hard time making necessary repairs, "eyewitness news" reporter greg argos is live outside peak he call center in center city with more on that, hi there, greg. >> hi there, guys, that call center is basically the first step in getting your power restored. if you are a customer without power you call in there and that is where peco will send a crew out to your location. it is all because of this massive wind, i want to give you an idea how strong this is we're talking about signs like this just toppled over, that thing was being held up by about eight of these bags, these are 25-pounds each or so-so you can get an idea of what this wind, will do to power lines, and trees in our area with these whipping winds slapping our area a powerful nor'easter means plenty of down electric lines, and thousands without power. >> we are at emergency operations center. >> reporter: peco spokesperson alexandria, says the center was activated on thursday as

of 50 miles per hour and that will continue, as we head into the evening hours and we will continue to see this heavy wet snow but it will taper off as we head in the second half of the evening. we will get over to the weather computer, where the scene is looking just as miserable on our roof cam, you can see it shaking around there, reduced visability hard to see sky scrapers where the snow is continuing to fall, temperatures at 33, northwesterly winds at 35 miles an hour. that is just a constant wind not even wind gusts and feels like temperatures feels like 18 degrees, even though meteorological spring began yesterday. temperatures hovering around freezing marks, 34 in allentown. thirty-four in atlantic city. thirty-three in millville. we have these brutal wind chill temperatures because we have, so much wind, and feeling like 19 in wilmington. feeling like single digits in the poconos. feels like 19 degrees in atlantic city. it is a great night to stay inside. storm scan three is showing us moisture still moving on shore , from that nor'easter off shore right new, moisture

driving in across the delaware valley. we're primarily seeing snowfall, and remember yesterday we were talking about that possibility we could see a prolong all snow event, and in that case we could see higher snow fall totals and that is what has been playing out through the day today. this ace very wet snow, difficult time accumulating but it is accumulate nothing certain areas and we are seeing that. still dealing with snow, in center city philadelphia, down i-95 corridor and wilmington down into dover as well where we are seeing purple returns. in and around chester area, chester county seeing heavy intensity snow fall. snowfall rates potentially at an inch per hour, south jersey still dealing with the snowfall, maryland rate in intensity. up toward poconos finally starting to get a little bit of the break after a significant snow event throughout the afternoon, and also getting a break in the lehigh valley but future weather is showing us as we head in the evening hours, things start to go wind down, especially eight or 9:00 o'clock we will see lingering snow showers

especiallye of i-95 and then by midnight mess of that moisture will start to wayne, with dryer air, building in across the area but we could pick up an additional coat to go 2 inches in some locations of this snow, slush, and two to 4 inches up toward poconos over the next several hours, where we still do have a winter stormect until 4:00 o'clock in the morning, tomorrow morning, so for carbon and monroe counties but here in the city, snow coming to an end early, windy conditions, 32 degrees and then for our day tomorrow still windy, some sunshine around but we won't see damaging winds, wind up to 35 or isolated gusts to 40 miles an hour tomorrow but we are not going to have these guys winds gusting to 71 miles an hour in cape may, hurricane force is 74 miles per hour, dover 62 miles an hour, 61 in atlantic city, gusting to 51 in northeast philadelphia and we have wind gusts upward of 55 miles an hour in philadelphia, 52 miles an hour in wilmington that high wind warning remains in effect until 6: omorning we will checks

aren't going to start to wayne until we head in the late overnight period and then through the day tomorrow so dealing with these win gusts tomorrow in the 30 miles per hour range, that will be much more tolerable then what we will deal with over next several hours and into the first part of the overnight period, so, winding down as we head especially in the second half of the weekend, we will do some good clean up, of all of the trees, tree limbs, power lines on sunday when wind are much more relaxed. where you look ahead to monday in this case. >> monday looks good, yeah. >> thanks, lauren. >> don's up next in sports. >> talk about action on the ice tonight minor setback for flyers and a tough outing for, opening day starting aaron nola, scott henry shows off spring training up
