let's go live to our correspondent who joins us on the line. the prime minister said this was a coup, but the military said it is not. what is your take? >> the military said this was along the lines of an anti-terrorism operation. the opposition wanted to hold a protest march on monday that would force him to reinstate parliament. police say that the protest march would have been violent and disruptive. on the other hand, people who were organizing the march said outside forces who were aligned to the government are going to come in and disrupt that. the army is saying that police are going to arm those outside forces, and they had to stop the police. >> this protest march sparking

challenge ice bucket has seen thousands of people dump cold water over their heads to raise awareness of and money for als. since this went viral on social media, nearly $100 million has been donated to research on the disease. for people living in places where water is extremely scarce like the gaza strip, the challenge has taken on an entirely other mood. a journalist in gaza who like many others happened across the ice bucket challenge on the internet, a stunt to highlight the disease als. he came up with his own unusual take on the craze to draw attention to the plight of the palestinians in gaza. here in palestine, it is difficult to find water, and it is more difficult to find cold water, as we don't have electricity. --decided what we do have

dominick has organized his whole life around his passion. he moved here six years ago so he could jump as often as possible. he gives lessons and works in a sports store to finance his hobby. away, material herds his cows back to the barn for milking. it would be a relaxing trip, he says, if it weren't for all the tourists. it used to be just the skiers who came in the winter. now the tourist season lasts all year round. he says the first group drives too fast and the other too slowly, and there's not much in between. you never know when a cow is suddenly about to change directions. you can't drive past too quickly, and you can't stay still either.

paragliders, they strippers, rock climbers, and tourists who love switzerland flocked to the valley in the summer. they raced bikes down the mountain and jump off racks and helicopters with all manners of flying tools. that thesmall wonder swiss mountain rescue squad responds to more calls here than anywhere else. he has little sympathy for the new trend in extreme sports. he would like to see base jumping banned altogether. the main problem is these new sports, he says. mountain bike paths run straight to the forest. the base jumpers fly too close to the cliffs and disturb the wild goats. that's a pity.

it is all quite upsetting. ordinary walking is too boring for these people. it's always got to be something crazy. the problem is the animals can't get used all of this. it is too much, too fast. that is all he wants to say about it. criticism of the extreme sport tourism isn't welcome in the valley because they bring in money for the local economy. he would rather talk about his cows. i grew up with the animals, he says. they are like family.

36-year-old can't imagine selling the family business for a job in tourism. i love working as a farmer, he says. i love being close to nature and close to the animals. it is hard work, but the animals give so much back. it's a good profession. in the meantime, dominick is showing his pupil how to properly store a base jumping parachute. he relies on meticulous preparation for the jump. first and foremost, that means packing everything the right way. parachute.ise up the

>> he says the risks of base jumping can be minimized with preparation.ng and he goes into minute detail with based on the beginners. every quarter, every crease is important when holding the parachute. even the teacher has had his share of dangerous situations. he says he once had to: the the time cord, but by the parachute opened, he practically hit the ground. luckily, he says, nothing happened. what do you mean, nothing happened, if you practically landed without a parachute? he says he landed in snow at a 45-degree angle, like a ski jumper.

but he has almost never considered giving up, except maybe once. i thought about taking a break, he says, were giving it up altogether when a good friend of mine was killed. but then you come to terms with it. do what you have to gives you pleasure. it, and then you come to the conclusion that you have to keep on going. you swear you'll never make the same mistakes.

after the packing lesson, it is off to the exit, what they call the jump spot. shop, antcher's adjustment to the new clientele. she offers a range of sausages is the ideal base jumpers snack. we live side-by-side with the tourists, she says. you get used to having all of these cranky, strange, and friendly people around. you get to know the whole world that way. you don't have to go anywhere because they all come to you. to jump from the cliffs herself, that is something she can't imagine doing. not really, she says. you're taking your life into your hands.
