attack. laila: attorney general jeff sessions was asked to the alleged bomber targeted democrats and he answered, i don't know. he appeared to be partisan. how significant an admission was that from the nation's top investigator? maya: this was a pretty interesting twist, especially given that, as we have mentioned, midterm elections are coming up very soon and this has thrown a wrench into the campaigns that have been going out. it was very clear that this man was partisan of some sort, first and the deliberate t targeting f high-profifile democratic politicians and operatives, and then when wewe saw the van that this man allegedly owned that was just plastered with pro trump and anti-democratic and anti-media bumper stickers, it does in fact look like this man is very much a trump supporter.

it is also the republicans coming out and emphasizing that they are the law and order administration, talking about how quickly they were able to bring this man into custody is going to become a real selling point for the republicans to say look how quickly will able to get this under control. they will be able to use that span in future campaigns the next few days. laila: mayaya shwhwayder reportg from wasashingto d.c., t thank u vevery much. next, i wantnto take youou to nw yorkrk city to our corrrrespondt abby in tribeca. abby, even more pacackages and bomb scares today where you are? abby: that is right. today i am in n midtown manhattn in front of a sorting fafacilit. can probably see behehind me. there is still a police presence, but t what happened earlierr this morning was an
