not going to move because there is a tax on these companies. there is a real opportunity for france in this case, and the . has introduced a similar has been thinking about it more generally, that the tax can be introduced. but it does nothing to fix the problem. the problem is the iiternational tax syytem ii not taxing the profits of these companies well, this does not address those questions. it a adds an additional l elemen top.p. >> when you look at it for that reason, if it can work for france, why are we seeing more european countries doing this? the u.k. has come up with proposals in this area, austria is it surprising the european union has not saii anything on this? >> some countrieses hat f it from the existing quite a lot of activity takes place in irelanddand is taxed

a longer view, they have beenen going on for many, many years, but more recently they have been focusing on the digital% problems. i think there are probbems of the international tax system, which certainly apply to the digital companiee, but they apply much more widely. required is to fix theooperation international tax system. it is far too easy for companies to shift profits around between countries and make those profits appear in the low tax jurisdictions. >> are you optimistic that an agreement can be done, if we have taken years and we still do table?ve a proposal on the >> i think if you had asked me a year or two ago, i would not be optimistic. i think there has been a real change in the nature of the discussions that have taken ince in paris at the moment, much more funnamental change in the international tax system that our countries have been
