today is armistice day, the day that marks the moment world war i came to end. over the years, november 11 has become a day to remember the victims of all wars. emmanuel macron paid tribute to the debt by rekindling the tomb of the unknown soldier that lies beneath the arch of triumph in paris. in a few hours, he will inaugurate a new monument paying tribute to the troops who died for france during overseas operations. that memorial will be the first to pay tribute to fallen soldier since the end of the algerian war in 1963. procession carries the coffin of the latest soldier to fall fighting for france.
