specifically, hunt said the government would scrap a cut to the basic tax rate, at the center of truss's plan and intervention to cap energy prices would end in april. it is a u-turn that has opposition lawmakers and members of her own party calling on liz truss to resign. >> how can britain get the stability it needs when all is chaos? reporter: the reversal from 10 downing seems to have calmed markets for now, but with just six weeks inffice, even members of her own party or expressing doubts about how long liz truss can last. anchor: the opposition labour party has a 30 point lead in opinion polls currently in the u.k.. pressure on conservatives to call an election, something they are under no obligation to do. we are watching for all developments. france meanwhile with a nationwide transport strike during a deadlock that has

caused fuel shortages. the biggest challenge yet to president emmanuel macron since winning a new term in may. this comes as workers in finery's and depots -- in refineries and depots voted to strike. this after the government tried to force a staff back onto the job. reporter: after weeks of strike action at fuel refineries, france's social unrest spilling over to other sanctioned -- other sectors. the strike threatens to cripple public transport in particular. up to half of trains could be canceled. >> i will get by, and will ask my girl friend or neighbor to give me a lift, they are right to do what they are doing. >> i'm not sure it is useful to bother people who rely on public transport. reporter: suburban rail services in the paris region as well as buses will also face disruption

media, including our very own france 24, are broadcasting the images showing bloody inhabitants after russian reprisals. here is the staging, claiming that western media is spreading fake ukrainian propaganda. other users replied to this tweet right here claiming that even steven spielberg could not have done better in creating fake war victims and this was war propaganda. this information was also shared by high-profile pro-russian accounts such as this one that says this is a production of dramatic photos for western media. and this photo and video was notably shared by the first deputy representative of russia in the u.n., who shared this
