this was a challenge. normally we use reverse image searches. when we reverse image search, had left us with one way to proceed and fight similar videos on the internet and that is how we went about this, using keywords and it was by chance we found this video that looks similar to the one going viral. it turns out we were able to find out what it's called, it turns out it's a rite of passage by the community.

it looks very much like what we saw. to find out more, our journalists got in touch with facebook group to see if anyone could help us locate that video. people did respond, telling us the language is spoken in that region of senegal, although it was not audible enough for people to distinguish what was being said and even more, a father contacted us to tell us his son took part in that rite
