50 people dedicate ford this mission today. it's good to see everybody coming together, working towards a common goal. what we are doing this morning, mass search. our goal is to identify, locate, remove items of contraband, making santa rosa a safer place for the inmates and the staff. >> today's search will cover two housing units and involve officers from santa rosa, three other state prisons and the inspector general's canine unit drugs and cell phones. >> we have six different search teams. they want to caution y'all. everybody remain professional during the search today. i want to leave the bunks in the areas as close as we can to the way we found them. in the event it becomes necessary to use force. i want you to utilize the minimum amount of force necessary in accordance with the procedure. >> get in your boxers. get in your boxers. shower slides only. unlock your lockers.

>> we have a lot of restrictions. a lot of shackdownke downs. kind of hard place to do time in. >> when one team continues searches cell, another team has moved into n-dorm. right now the dorm is completely empty making for an easier search. >> this dormitory houses inmates that work outside the fence that if have more opportunities to bring in contraband from the community. the canines, any contraband they have in this station, this dormitory will have it. >> most of the n-dorm inmates work on a construct, crew. building a new low security housing unit on a plot of land adjacent to santa rosa. the dogs are trained to suddenly sit still when they detect the scent of whatever contraband they're searching for.
