along with all the family and friends of the three freed women. glad to have you back, ladies. white house is commenting on a possibility that chemical weapons may have been used by the rebels, not the southeastern military. we'll get a report from tel aviv where tensions remain high. and in sports, late-night double overtime thriller is becoming an instant classic. stunner of the night in nba playoffs. we'll show you those highlights moments later. first to the top story on this tuesday, may 7th. found alive after ten years. three women, amanda brry, gina deheesz and michele knight appear to be in good health after a neighbor heard their screams and helped them escape from a home in cleveland, ohio. berry was emotional when she spoke to the operator. >> help me, i'm amanda berry. >> do you need police, fire or ambulan ambulance? >> i need police. >> okay. and what's going on there?

>> i've been kidnapped and i've been missing for ten years and i'm here. i'm free now. hello? >> yes. talk to the police when they get there. >> okay. are they on their way right now? >> we're going to send them as soon as we get a car open. >> no, i need them now before he gets back. >> how old is he? >> he's like 52. >> all right. and -- >> i'm amanda berry. i've been in the news for the last ten years. >> okay. >> amazing 911 call. three brothers all in their 50s are in police custody awaiting charges. two of the young women were in their teens when they went missing. the third was 20 years old. a neighbor who came to the rescue was as surprised as anyone to discover the missing girl girls in the house next door. >> i heard screaming. i come outside and see this girl going nuts trying to get out of a house. so i go on the porch. i go on the porch and she says help me get out. i've been in here a long time. she comes out with a little girl

and she says call 911. my name is amanda berry. amanda told the police, i ain't just the only one. there's some other girls up in that house. >> berry reportedly told police the young girl with her at the time of her escape was her captor's daughter. cleveland's wka krchc's chris h been following this. >> simultaneously, three men are behind bars this morning in a neighborhood where no one smelled any whiff of suspicion about what was going on inside this home. this has been a story that has just riveted the cleveland community for ten years. these young girls, teenagers at the time just went missing cold. there were rallies, vigils and there were families who simply did not give up hope.

many rolled their eyes at that hope but this morning they are waking up with their daughters in their arms and a mystery that still continues to unfold. much of this throughout the day here on msnbc. for now from cleveland, i'm chris ty. back to you. >> everybody everyone has a million questions about this story. we expect to get more details at a police news conference this morning. white house officials remain clearly reluctant in getting involved in syria's civil war, despite conflicting allegations of chemical warfare. after an accusation that the rebels used chemical weapons, the white house stands by their belief. >> we are highly skeptical that the opposition used chemical weapons. we find it highly likely that chemical weapons, if they were,

in fact, used in syria -- there's certainly evidence that they were -- the assad regime was responsible. >> investigating human rights abuses in syria also walked back from the official's remarks, saying they have not yet determined which side used the gas. the u.s. continues to explore all options when it comes to intervening in the two-year-old civil war. secretary of state john ker kerry. a new bill that would allow them to provide arms and aid to syrian rebels. israeli occupied golan heights. the military called it, quote, accidental spillover from the nation's conflict. israeli military over the weekend struck several military

targets near damascus. israel and u.s. officials do not confirm. >> reporter: a third mortar shell in two days landed in the israeli territory of golan heights. no reports of damage. israel simply says this is spillover from fierce fighting between regime and rebel forces. indeed, this time israel has chosen not to hit back, in part, because after a weekend of bomb attacks in on targets inside syria attributed to israeli warplanes there is a conscious effort to reduce tensions. on the syrian front told reporters this morning, and yet according to some reports in the arab media, the syrian

ambassador chris stevens and sean smith were dead but two other americans, former navy s.e.a.l.s did not die until a second full assault at 5:15 am on a cia annex several miles away. six special forces commandos flew in from tripoli but couldn't stop the onslaught. now an interview with gregory hicks has been released, deputy chief of mission who says he called for military help from four more forces operatives in tripoli but was overruled. a dploeiplomat, not a military officer said i believe if we had been able to scramble a fighter or aircraft or two over benghazi as quickly as possible after the attack commenced there would not have been a mortar attack on the annex in the morning, because i believe the libyans would have split. they were not prepared for a combat assault mission. as far as buzzing the consulate to scatter fighters, they were
