something on tv that no woman has ever done before. good morning. president obama is renewing his request for a military strike in syria. the second and final day of the g-20 summit. on thursday a cia meets csi briefing on the evidence. the senate intelligence e committee was shown video of the alleged chemical attack. one called the footage horrendous. it's unclear whether there's a global coalition. russia, china and the european union have condemned the attack but it's too soon for military action. and concerns are rising in iran. a syrian ally, told a state body the u.s. will certainly suffer loss if it takes military action. these are live pictures of the g-20 summit right now. nbc's chief white house correspondent chucked ed ttodd

look at this morning's dish of scrambled politics. republicans in north carolina have overridden their own republican governor. thursday the legislature overrode a veto to allow drug testing of state welfare recipients. bad news for the state house. the governor has no intention of enforcing that law. one federal ethics inquiry just wasn't enough for michele bachmann. this time the feds are looking into whether a superpac improperly coordinated with her failed 2012 presidential campaign. the white house has launched a new website on syria. it's part of whitehouse.gov designed to help the public learn more about the president's plan. former congresswoman gabrielle giffords has joined instagram. her photo was a self-y while another one shows her with her husband mark kelly. a michigan state professor is out of the classroom after telling his students that republicans had "raped this

its superintendent. the superintendent michael miller intervened in the case trying to protect himself and even encouraged her not to report the alleged assault. a man in missouri is under arrest after admitting to police he exposed approximately 300 sexual partners to the hiv virus. under missouri law the man could face life in prison for knowingly exposing people to the virus. fear of rejection is supposedly the reason he never told his partners he was hiv positive. george zimmerman's wife filed for divorce thursday. according to her attorney it was made because of disappointment. three people are lucky to be alive after escaping a sink hole in downtown oklahoma city. the car they were in just dropped as the earth opened up beneath them. they were able to climb out of a back window. turning to health news. it's a deadly new trend that parents need to know about. teens inhaling alcohol to get

that the resolution will fail in the house. the president is trying to shore up international support overseas. he has said he reserves the right to proceed regardless of the circumstances, but is there any way he could really launch a strike without support from the international community or congress? >> it would be a remarkable turn of events if he did. i think that it would also pose a huge headache for him as he cons into his second term to go against congress's wishes. >> now thursday the "new york times" ran a disturbing photo of syrian opposition forces executing government fighters. how damaging is that to public opinion? >> i think that it speaks to this larger narrative of where exactly do the syrian rebels stand. and there have been reports for months, for a very long time about where exactly the funding for the syrian rebels is coming. not only from the united states, but also from terrorist organizations with perhaps even links to al qaeda.

so you have this dynamic at play where it's not really sure who is backing the rebels. it really doesn't support a sympathetic picture, if you will, of the rebels, which if we're going to be supporting them in the military strike poses more problems for the obama administration. >> now the president is putting an awful lot of political capital into this debate. how do you think this current debate in congress will influence looming battles coming down the pike? things like the debt ceiling and immigration? >> it's going to have to a huge influence. the white house reached out to 60 members of the senate and 125 members of the house. and it's largely unknown how the house will go on something like syria. so when you look down the line and you have a fascinating debate just ahead about the federal reserve chair as well as a budget battle, immigration and midterm elections, for the white house to have to put this much outreach into something and to potentially fail, it could have

buzz." there's a viral video online that's really getting a lot of attention. it's not your typical viral video. in it a man confesses to murder. i want to play a clip in a second, but this is 22-year-old matthew. he admits to having drank too much, driven the wrong way and crashing head on into. another driver killing that man. he posted this video online admitting to thaul saying he wants to take full speedometer. it's generating controversy because people are praising him. it's honorable to take responsibility, but prosecutors of the man who died reminded himst not a hero. >> they are just sitting there watching this. it's like a well-produced hollywood apology. >> you have to give him credit. he did come forward. >> even his attorneys advised him to not to be so candid. >> he's looking at jail. >> he's facing potential charges
