we begin with two fronts on the economy. on wednesday fed chairman ben bernanke said he would continue massive government stimulus to the economy. futures are higher today. all of the green arrows may be short-lived. in less than two weeks the government will run out of money. and republicans say they will link defunding of obamacare to negotiations on the debt ceiling and the federal budget. that did not sit well with president obama. >> you have never seen in the history of the united states the debt ceiling or the threat of not raising the debt ceiling being used to extort a president or a governing party. and trying to force issues that have nothing to do with the budget and have nothing to do with the debt. >> senate democrats say they will reject any house bill that strips money from the president's health care law.

place in congress. as we mentioned earlier in the show, house republicans are threatening to shut down the government unless obamacare is defunded. is there any way it will work? >> probably not. but if you read between the lines, everything that is re relevant here is really between the lines. there is all kinds of room for maneuvering. the house will indulge its fetish for house republicans to defund obama care as they like to call it, then it goes to the senate, the senate is going to turn that down. and then the negotiation is going to start. and you even have this back fall for speaker boehner that he can count on democrats to help him prevail and avoid a government shutdown at the end. the problem he has then is that he'll probably lose his caucus and soon would be former speaker boehner. >> so you mentioned the situation that boehner is in. this is quite a bind for him. so what do you think is the best way forward here? what's the best of the bad options? >> probably for him would be to call in sick, something like
