bond martini habit. he drinks a lot. a tutor who makes more money than all of us. details on that. we want to begin with a developing story out of denver. a series of stabbings outside the broncos stadium. it happened in a nearby parking lot 30 minutes after the game with the chargers. one victim is in critical condition and two in stable condition. there may be a fourth victim missing. witnesses saw multiple fights after the game. police tweeted, they are not looking for additional suspects. there have been a series of violent things happening ach games. a man was killed in kansas city after an altercation with the broncos. this was with the chiefs. in september, a fan was left with a concussion and broken nose and arm. members of the house of representatives can begin their

winter break knowing they have accomplished something. it's something that hasn't been done in years. that would be passing a budget. the bill moved through the house with majority of the house. 62 republicans and 32 democrats voted against it. for conservatives, this budget is the latest battleground for control of the republican party. yesterday, house speaker john boehner slammed outside groups that opposed the bill. >> frankly, i think they are misleading their followers and pushing our members in places where they don't want to be. frankly, i think that they have lost all credibility. they pushed us into the fight to defund obama care and shut down the government. most of you know, my members know, that wasn't exactly the strategy i had in mind. but, if you recall the day before the government reopened, one of the people -- one of

these groups stood up and said well, we never thought it would work. are you kidding me! >> those conservative groups, as you might imagine responded swiftly from freedom works, quote, when it comes to credibility, actions speak louder than words. right now, it looks like the speaker is leading the charge for spending increases and recruiting democrat votes in the house to get it done. from the tea party patriots, pitting colleagues is how you lose credibility, not upholding principals is how you lose credibility with the voters. find someone else if you are not willing to do your job. paul ryan said it's not just about the budget, it's about the future of the republican party. >> we have been at each other's throats for a long time. look, i was part of the last presidential election. we tried defeating this president. i wish we would have.

elections have consequences, mr. speaker. i fundamentally believe, this is my personal opinion, it's slightly partisan to say, to really do what we think needs to be done, we have to win elections. in the meantime, let's try to make this divided government work. i think our constituents are expecting more from us. they are expecting us to not keep shutting the government down. they are expecting us to pay the bills. they are expecting us to be accountable. they are expecting us to watch how their dollars are being spent and to find common ground. >> let's move to news over seas. a powerful figure in north korea has been executed. his execution as a trader was announced. he's the uncle of jim jong-un. he was attempting to overthrow the state and was called

iran's nuclear program as part of an unapproved mission to gather intelligence. he was working on behalf of cia agents. once he went missing and u.s. officials found out, several people were disciplined and the government paid the family to keep quiet. they received images in 2010 and 2011. since then, it's been radio silence. u.s. officials can only guess who might be holding him and where he might be. the pr campaign in the fight against terrorism took a big hit thursday after a u.s. drone caught an envoy in yemen heading to a wedding. it killed 13 people according to officials. it's not clear if there were expected militants among them. information indicates intelligence mistook the wedding party for an al qaeda convoy.

al qaeda in the arabian peninsula is one of the dangerous things. if they are civilians, it will only complicate matters for the yemen and american governments. let's go to guantanamo bay. closing it was one of the president's missions. today, it's the most expensive and the most controversial prison operated by the united states. now in an op-ed for the detroit free press, the general who helped open the facilities says it should be shut down. he writes, in parkt, the entire detention strategy was wrong. we squandered the good will of the world after we were attacked by our actions in guantanamo in detention and torture. our decision to keep it open helped our enemies because it validates every negative

they entice companies to partner with state oil giant on production and service contracts. mexico has the third largest oil reserves in latin america at 10 million barrels. it's struggled to exploit them because of lack of investment there. high taxes and charges of corruption. consumers may not be willing to spend as much this holiday season as previously thought. the cnbc survey predicts a 9% drop in spending. it's interesting when you look at what's behind the prediction. a fall off in spending by the wealthy. these are the folks who can afford to spend, you would think. people with incomes above $100,000 a year plan to spend $300 less than last year. a quarter of those say they are not buying as much because finances are tighter. about the same number say it's because the economy is in bad shape. people still aren't feeling confident even in that high

sports illustrated reports they used the pick on current florida state quarterback winston. of course, one of the most iconic performances in sports history is michael jordan's flu game. game five in 1997, scored 38 points despite being really, really sick. the sneakers he wore during that game, complete with the socks and his signature auctioned off for almost 105,000 bucks. two interesting notes about the story. the bulls trainer said jordan didn't have the flu, it was food poisoning. second, a ball boy put the shoes up fur action. he tended to jordan's illness during the game and he returned the favor by giving him the signed sneakers. cool. close to 100 grand. 40% for taxes. >> i'm amazed he saved them that long. >> when is the right time to do it? >> i don't know. who knows.
