to keep that onesie on and enjoy the show. the state of georgia will remain in a state of emergency through sunday as the roads are getting back in tow. atlantans are regaining their cars. many abandoned because they ran out of gas. last night trucks began towing the vehicles that created iconic images of the city's snarled interstate. while atlanta's mayor were defined on shows like "morning joe." now they're shoeuldering blame. the governor, nathan deal, had blamed the shifting forecast. e-mail shows that the governor's staff began raising questions on monday but they hadn't signaled the storm would cause trouble. >> i'm the governor. the buck stops with me. i accept the responsibility for it. i also accept the responsibility of being able to make corrective actions as they come into the

path for the 11 million undocumented immigrants in the u.s. to gain legal status. not everybody is embracing that plan. in an interview senator ted cruz rejected that saying, quote, why on earth would the house dive into immigration right now. it makes no sense unless you're harry reid. republicans are poised for an historic election this fall. if the house passed an amnesty bill or any bill that is perceived as an amnesty bill that demoralized voters going into november. with hillary clinton allegedly eyeing a run for the white house, former first lady laura bush said the first gentleman shouldn't be treated any differently than his predecessors? >> are we too obsessed with your hair, your makeup, your clothes? >> yes, for sure, but i don't think we can get around it. maybe when we have a first gentleman and maybe we should be that way about the first

20th term. the 74-year-old lawmaker was a key architect of obamacare. he's the 17th member of the house to announce retirement cluing 6 other democrats. 14 other members are running for the senate or governorship. the congressman says he's retiring so he can experience a life outside of congress. he referenced his lack of bipartisan to say there are elements of congress today that i do not like. i abhor the extremism of the republican party tea party members. they often in a partisan and intellectual vacuum denying science refusing to listen to experts and ignoring facts. sandra fluke may seek the vacated seat. she said i'm flattered i'm being discussed as a candidate. a number of people have encouraged me to run. i am strongly considering running. new york city will agree to reforms ordered by a judge over the controversial tactic known

as stop and frisk. the judge ruled the city was practicing de facto racial profiling calling it unconstitutional. a major part of bill de blasio's election platform was stopping this. >> we are doing it through a collective commitment to fix the fundamental problems that enabled stop and frisk to grow out of control and violate the rights of nntd new yorkers. what we are doing here today will increase the quality of policing in new york city. and we believe these steps will make everyone safer. we're putting in place here the foundation of an even safer city. >> since the judge's ruling, there have been concerns that the city's crime rate which has stayed low compared to other big cities like chicago could actually backslide. last year a murder rate reached a level not seen since 1963 when recordkeeping began. amanda knox back in the

news. she's been found guilty in the murder of her former roommate. they reconvicted knox yesterday. she was sentenced to 28 years and 6 months behind the bars. her former boyfriend receiving 25 years. knox was initially found guilty of this back in '09. she was behind bars until that conviction was overturned in 2011. knox who has been living in seattle watched this live on tv yesterday. she said, quote, i'm frightened and saddened by this unjust verdict. having been found innocent before, i expected better from the italian justice system. the evidence and accusatory theory do not justify a verdict of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. she's expected to appeal and says she will only return to italy, quote, kicking and screaming you we shift gears and move our attention on to business. today wall street will look to build momentum off of yesterday's gains. the dow surging over 100 points

on solid reports from the commerce department. jeff cutmore is live in london to tell us what we can expect today. >> exciting numbers, thomas, overnight in europe because we got a look at the fourth quarter gdp number, 3.2% for the united states. it could have been a percentage point higher if the government was out there spending as well, but the markets will take this for the time being because it shows strength both in consumer spending and private investment and that's the key here, whether this growth is sustainable. moving you along, maybe not such great news for prime subscribers of amazon. amazon talking about raising their prime subscription by as much as $40. the issue here, shipping costs have gone up 19% for the quarter and the numbers from amazon weren't that great. so the market scratching its head here saying somebody has to pick up the bill for this. the trouble is if they put up the prices, will the subscribers
