a flood snapped peyton manning at the start. and never gets better for manning and the broncos. seahawks leading 8-0, manning throws a pick. in the second, marshawn lynch charges in for a touchdown. as seattle keeps a 15-0 lead. then here comes game mvp malcolm smith with a manning interception for a touchdown. seattle stuns denver 22-0, halftime. at the start of the second half, percy harvin returns to the kickoff for another seahawks touchdown. it is 29-0, and it doesn't stop russell wilson, the defense can't hold him, touchdown. yep, 36-0, peyton manning ends the third quarter with denver's first and only touchdown, but too little, too late. seattle wins 43-8. here is seattle's quarterback russell wilson. >> the thing you want to do at

overdose. hoffman found in the bathroom of his apartment with drug pa paraphernalia. waged a public battle with drug addiction, including a reported stint in rehab last year after more than two decades of sobriety. in 2002, hoffman appeared on "today." >> i think everybody's troubled. that's part of what it's like living on this planet. >> i -- >> best known for his oscar winning turn as the title role, he was a versatile character actor, famous for disappearing into his roles. >> you cannot make friends with the rock stars. >> from "almost famous," to the "big labowski" and "the master," a role for which he was nominated for an oscar and golden globe. he won young fans of the "hunger

games." a role he was reprizing in the final films. in a statement his family said we are devastated by the loss of our beloved phil. this is a tragic and sudden loss and ask you respect our privacy. please keep phil in your thoughts and prayers. >> and that was kristen dahlgren reporting there. back now to the super bowl. and you might have noticed some of the hardest hits came before kickoff. president obama sat down for a live interview before the game. the ten-minute exchange with bill o'reilly got testy and started with obamacare. >> was it the biggest mistake of your presidency to tell the nation over and over if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance? >> bill, you've got a long list of my mistakes as president. this is one i regret and said i regretted. the 2012 attack in benghazi and whether or not the white house was involved in a cover-up. >> your detractors believe you

did not tell the world it was a terror attack because your campaign didn't want that out. >> bill, think about -- >> that's what they believe. >> and they believe it because folks like you are telling them that. >> i'm not telling you that. >> and what i'm saying is that is inaccurate. the -- we revealed to the american people what we understood at the time. the notion that we would hide the ball for political purposes when a week later we all said, in fact, there was a terrorist attack taking place the day after, that wouldn't be a very good cover-up. >> he docked a question on who he favored in the game saying the final would be 24-21. a prediction we all know now was way off. now to new developments this morning, a so-called bridge gate scandal. one of chris christie's subpoenaed staffers has resigned just as new documents are expected to be turned over to investigators today. christina renna is one of 17

people targeted in the investigation. she says she's been considering the decision since shortly after christie's reelection. republicans are steadfast in their support for christie saying sunday he should not resign. for his part, christie maintains he had no knowledge or involvement in the scandal. well, the world's most famous groundhog has predicted six more weeks of winter. punxsutawney phil saw his shadow in pennsylvania on sunday according to the official announcement at the event. and according to legend, that means that cold winter weather will last until march and the start of spring. but here's the good news, phil's forecast accuracy is reportedly only 39%, not unlike bill karins. >> with my percentage, veronica? >> 87%. >> oh, that'd be great. that's a "b" plus. >> you're always right.

>> you can't always be right. but i'll tell you what, though, a lot of people are being surprised by this snow this morning in the greater new york city area and just north of philadelphia. it is going to be a horrendous morning commute in this area. already moderate to heavy snow falling. and a lot of people aren't expecting it. whether it was because of the super bowl and the weekend. temperatures in the 50s over the weekend. but it is going to be a miserable day. this area, this corridor, very heavy snow this morning, right there, just north of d.c., north of philadelphia. the blue, the dark blue from hagerstown, new york, redding, allentown, new york city, 34 degrees and heavy snow is beginning to fall. we could see up to 6 inches of snow in new york city just during the daylight hours, 1 to 2 inches an hour. we're talking about a lot of people with the potential for a horrible morning commute, maybe even hard enough snow that vehicles could be stuck on the roads. and the timing of it, around 9:00 a.m./8:00 a.m. is when the heaviest is over the greater new york city area.

and then right behind this, another winter storm. what a week this is going to be. this next storm will have major implications from kansas city, indianapolis, cleveland, all the way through northern new england. and then we have another potential storm. maybe the sunday/monday time frame, an old classic nor'easter. we've got three storms to deal with. but the immediate concern, the greater new york city philadelphia area, i hope everyone's prepared for the worst morning drives of the winter. >> i hate to say it, but i hope today is one of those days you're wrong. >> i hope so, too. i'm scared what this is going to look like a couple hours from now. more super bowl madness. seattle's marshawn lynch like you have never seen him before. beast mode was in dance mode in the locker room. leading up to the big game, but showed a different side after the seahawks won the super bowl. though, he didn't win the super bowl, peyton manning was named the nfl's most valuable player for the fifth time.

blowout, i thought the pregame interview was a bit more combative and competitive. the white house was probably, you know, prepared for these kind of questions. the president's been answering them and the white house for a long time. you saw some of the president's frustration of being asked the questions. he continued to sort of say, hey, you know, this is the health care rollout was a problem, but hey, we're trying to fix it. and with benghazi, he said, look, it's fox news that keeps bringing this up. there's been plenty of hearings on this and we're comfortable where we are. i think the president's trying to get by. bill o'reilly was making the point, we're going to keep pressing you on this. it's going to continue to be an issue. >> all right. let's go ahead and get to chris christie and the latest with the george washington bridge scandal. news of a staffer's resignation, also subpoenaed documents are due back. david, what do you think we can expect here? >> i think it's a problem for governor christie. he was adamant, of course, that david wildstein, the port authority appointee, his own

appointee who said there's evidence the governor may have known about the bridge closings, which he has denied. they were adamant that's not true. but i think, you know, if there's more evidence in what comes back from the subpoenas he may have known, that's going to continue to be a problem. and if there's not, these allegations continue to come up and percolate, you know, the legislature's going to keep investigating. this will be an ongoing problem whether the governor likes it or not. they're still hanging in there with him. that could turn, though, depending on what evidence we see. >> exactly right. and david, what are you working on for the "washington post." >> a lot of the immigration debate. we've heard a lot of signals there could be a big sweeping deal on the way. until there is a deal, we have to stop these deportations. tomorrow, i'll have a story looking at whether the president you can go ahead and use his authority to expand his earlier deferral for young people, young immigrants and their deferral program. there's a lot of people that want him to do that, but legal questions about that.
