>> i was going show you that man in this monitor to explain what i'm talking about. >> they don't want to see the guy. >> not yet. this is a deep tease. all right. we will begin with the latest on what seems like a long winter. parts of the northeast and midwest were slammed yet by the second snowstorm of the week. in new york city it was a slushy mess thanks to snow, sleet and ice. some states saw up to a foot of snow causing nightmares on the road for drivers. more than 3,000 flights were canceled yesterday, that is in addition to the 2,200 canceled the day before. 750,000 homes in pennsylvania were in the dark. with another storm looming for the weekend, a new concern is emerging. several states including new york and new jersey are close to running out of rock salt for the roads. the city of chicago says it has no plans to cut back as of

yesterday, but some suburbs have started to ration whatever deicer they have left. bill karins will join us in a back to look at where that snowstorm will hit. there is new concern about flights headed to the olympic games. flights to russia should be on the lookout for efforts to smuggle bombs into toothpaste tubes. it was sent to carriers outside the united states. so far there's been no change to carry-on requirements on flights, and officials say the warning is out of an abundance of caution. relations have been strained between the russian and american governments for some time now, today the latest point of contention -- yogurt. specifically a shipment of 5,000 containers of chobani supposed to be sent to athletes in sochi. instead its sitting in a new york city airport because

by chobani. any way, let's move on. the latest report from obamacare is framing the long-running debate about the size of government and what incentive american workers have to get ahead. the congressional budget office said this week the health care law will cause a decline in full-time workers. >> as a result of the affordable care act, more americans will be able to voluntarily choose to work fewer hours or not take a job because they don't depend on that job providing health insurance. the affordable care act allows americans to choose spending more time with their family or pursuing their american dream. that's not a bad thing. that's a good thing. >> republicans suggested that workers are being encouraged to work less in order to keep receiving assistance from the

government. >> by providing heavily subsidized health insurance to people with low income and withdrawing those subsidies as income rises, the act creates a disincentive for people to work relative to what would have been the case in the absence of that act. providing a subsidy people are better off but they have less of an incentive to work. >> i understand that. i understand the better off in the context of health care, but better off in inducing a person not to work who is on the low-income scale, not to get on the ladder of life to begin working, getting the dignity of work, getting more opportunities, rising their income, joining the middle class, this means fewer people will do that. that's why i'm troubled by this. >> let's talk about income. vice president joe biden made some income inequality statements and made up the central argument of his speech at final day of the united auto works annual conference in washington. after working the room with a few biden moments, the vice

president made a passionate plea on behalf of human rights. >> you guys are the only guys keeping the barbarians at the gate. this is a concerted, full-throated, well organized, well financed long-term effort waging a war on labor's house because they know -- they know not all business, these guys on the right, they know without you there they call every shot. i never thought i would be back re-fighting after all this time in my career the wave of right to worke efforts. the right to pay you a lower wage. the right to make sure you don't have a say in your working conditions. it's not a right to work. it's a right for them to eliminate your right to have a say in your work.

>> woody allen's son is coming to his defense amid renewed allegations the actor and director sexually assaulted his adopted daughter. moses farrow, the adopted son of mia and allen is speak out with "people" magazine saying allen did not molest his adopted sister. and it comes in response to dylan published in the new york times where she describes being molested by allen at the age of 7. allen has denied those allegations for two decades. moses pointed the finger at mia saying my mother drummed it into me to hate my father for tearing apart my family and sexually molesting my sister. i hated him for her for years. i see this was a vengeful way to pay him back for falling in love with soon-yi. i don't know if my sister was really molested for she was

trying to please my mother. dylan farrow said "my brother is dead to me." adding my memories are the truth, they are mine and i will live with that for the rest of my life. woody allen's lawyer recently appeared on the "today" show to defend his client. >> his reaction is one of overwhelming sadness because of what has happened to dylan. she was a pawn in a huge fight tween him and mia farrow years ago. the idea she was molested was implanted in her by her mother. and that memory is never going to go away. in my view, she's not lying. i think she truly believes this happened. that's what the vice of this is. when you implant a story in a fragile 7-year-old's mind, it stays there forever. it never goes away. >> the new york times is considering whether to publish a direct response piece from woody allen. pope francis has called it the shame of the church but a

scathing report by the united nations claims vatican policies have continued to allow clergy members to sexually abuse young children. the u.n. says perpetrators were moved from parish to parish to cover up crimes. the vatican which is being asked to release all of its records about abuse denounced that report. it said the findings were distorted and unfair. but one alleged victim says he feels vindicated by the findings. >> the fact that the united nations has said that there has been a systematic coverup and that the needs of the church have been placed over the needs of the children, it -- well, it feels like a validation. >> the u.n. report also criticized the vatican's beliefs about same-sex marriage, abortion and birth control. let's shift gears and move ahead to business. wall street's roller coaster year is continuing as new employment data did little to move the markets yesterday.

the dow did bounce back from being down more than 100 points earlier in the day. steve sedgwick is live for us in london what are you watching today. >> it's incredibly volatile. a lot of companies reporting, but those who got the big data, watching ecb over in europe, whether they will move on rates. they are potentially going to lower rates because of deflation concerns. disney yesterday, up 1.5%. good frozen sales affecting that group. elsewhere, twitter, the honeymoon could be over. this stock rose 150% since its ipo last year. stock was down 18% in yesterday's trading on concerns about slow user growth. only about 4% growth in the user numbers. there are concerns this will not be rolling out on the same kind of scale as facebook. they lost over $500 million in the quarter. >> steve, it's interesting, we have time warner releasing what hbo has earned. this shows the difference, how far netflix has to go to catch
