from the plane to satellite recordings. that records the speed and altitude. the final ping was sent over water from a normal cruising altitude. aviation officials are still investigating the possibility that someone on the the plane disabled the the communication systems. abc radio is reporting two data recording systems were shut down less than 15 minutes apart. what's the very latest? >> we can tell you they have been in touch. they have confirmed the helicopter searches are going to be in the indian ocean. now the malaysian authorities insist the south china sea is still the main focus of search operations. the national coalition of navy and air forces are keeping their
