sneak a keystone measure into the energy bill. okay, here we are. let's try anything we can. reid suggested an up or down vote with a promise for a separate vote on the keystone xl later on. they didn't buy that. what republicans are constantly trying to come up with some new form of hostage taking time after time. but out of material at this point. they've tried to jam the keystone pipeline through the back door of the energy bill and again they have failed there. republicans senator mitch mcconnell went on the defensive saying that reid was stifling the voice of the american people by refusing to allow amendments to the energy bill. >> even if senate democrats would rather pander to far left and shut down debate, republicans are going to keep fighting for the middle class. >> stifling voices, think about that.

2:27 pm
and like i said, the state department has -- and the administration has released 25,000 pages of documents. there doesn't appear to be anything left to do except use this as a republican method of fanning the flames to gin up their base. >> okay. so should she not pay attention to the subpoena and should the democrats ignore this, quote, select special whatever the heck it is committee to go after benghazi? >> well, look, if they're going to actually make this fair, what leader pelosi has said, and i agree with her, committee should be evenly split, the same number of republicans and democrats if they're going to attempt at a fair quote/unquote investigation. but if they don't, then we should -- i think leader pelosi should seriously consider having us not participate because you know sanctioning this sham would be ridiculous.
