million this weekend? hello, everybody. thank you for joining us on this friday. i'm betty nguyen. veterans affairs secretary shinseki is refusing to resign over allegations that waiting for health care at va hospitals led to veterans' deaths. jim miklaszewski has details. >> reporter: as a former army general, this is not expect secretary eric shinseki's idea of taking the hill. he appeared before the veterans affairs committee to answer questions and taking the heat of the growing scandal over veterans affairs. >> any adverse incident like this makes me as -- makes me mad as hell. >> reporter: it's alleged that va hospitals in at least eight states were hiding veterans wait. >> were people, quote, unquote,

this was the site of the syrian army base noch. no casualty numbers were immediately available. it crashes and sends an 8-year-old girl flying sheechlt suffered a concussion but otherwise is okay. two men have been charged in connection with that crash. a 34-year-old woman was caught pretending to be a 15-year-old high school sophomore, staying with family in east texas and was actually enrolled in a local high school. no word yet on why. but her principal told nbc news there were no red flags and that she was a good student. a scary situation for people on board a flight bound for tulsa, oklahoma. a report of an engine fire forced an american airlines plane to circle dallas-ft. worth airport before making an emergency landing. air traffic control noticed the fire immediately.
