heavy rain filling streets with rushing water. and fairfaxiowa, a buildinged. and northwest iowa, this was caught on camera. and a highway opened up and swallowed two vehicles. no injuries there. mother nature put on a spectacular light show in eastern kansas. spawning a tornado and downed streets and power lines. the first tropical zprepdepressf the 2014 season is expected to become arthur. the first named storm of the atlantic hurricane season. you have been a busy man this morning. >> the severe weather was bad enough. now the threat of a hurricane up the coast. new update just in from the national hurricane center, right along the southeast and

mid-atlantic coast as a hurricane. it's becoming a much more serious problem for the southeast. and everyone's vacation plans heading for the fourth of july. right now, not much. still a weak, tropical depression. not even a storm yet. but conditions are favorable strengthen. it's over very warm water. not expecting a horrible impact in florida. at the greatest risk or threat, north carolina. especially the outer banks. it sticks out like a sore thumb, and catches the storms. and here's the forecast from the hurricane center just in. arth arthur, going through thursday, and friday, early morning, sometime around this point, just off the south carolina, north carolina coast, becoming a category 1 hurricane. and then thankfully for new england, parallel to the coast and not on shore. okay with i-95. this is friday to saturday. a huge beach day. we're talking about the fourth

of july. even if the storm doesn't make land fall, rip currents, large waves. not beach weather, not celebrating. >> yeah, a holiday weekend. thank you, bill, on top of that. meanwhile, developing overnight, the white house will send 300 additional troops to iraq. officials say the added military might will help enforce security at the u.s. embassy, baghdad airport, and protect american citizens in the area. this brings the total number of troops in iraq to about 750. we will attack. that is the message from ukrainian president petro por reshen co. the cease fire expired last night. on monday he told other world leaders that the rebels hadn't followed the cease fire. 27 ukrainian servicemen have been killed since the cease fire

began. and hamas will pay following the deaths of three israeli teenagers. just this morning, a serious of rocket strikes launched at gaza, controlled by the palestinian militant group. this after they found the bodies of three teens who were hitchhiking home from school on june 12th when they disappeared. israeli officials believe they were abducted by hamas operatives. but they have not claimed responsibility. they were found not far from where they went missing. and talk sports in morning with richard. >> good tuesday. start request baseball and detroit. started a game by honoring the 30th anniversary of the tigers '84 world championship team. you weren't even alive yet, betty. and oakland gets a hit. maybe, no, and jackson supermans it for the save. bases loaded, one out, detroit down by three. and then rod j. davis.

odd about this. that viagra and is a sectmys are covered, but birth control aren't. can you make sense of that? >> no, i can't draw any of the lines. jehovah's witnesses oppose blood transfusions. what about the company who says we will not cover blood transfusions? people have a lot of believes. it's great in america, we can believer whatever crazy stuff we want. but for an employer imposing those beliefs for the people who work for them, who don't share the beliefs, should that be what we have to put up with to go to work? i don't think so. >> can anything be done at this point since we have the supreme court ruling? >> we can take them one at a time. there are some possibilities that the president might be able to find other ways to fund this birth control that's not covered by the health insurance for the workers at hobby lobby and similar companies. there may be other places we can
