eastern sea board. answer the phone. the ftc is calling to say you are ripping off customers. what would catherine zeta jones say? this is "way too early." who doesn't love a good sound effect to start "way too early." i'm thomas roberts. this is the show where i stayed in the same hotel as kathrcathe zeta jones and michael douglas. let's get to it. it is the day after. they call it a beautiful game. american soccer fans across the country are feeling major heart break this morning. the national team falls 2-1. the red devils knock in two goals. the final outcome could have been much worse if not for tim howard.

just off the coast of florida. this storm has significant impact far lot of vacationing families from florida up through cape cod over the next three days. i think it will be totally gone by the time we get to saturday. the weekend is looking fine. thursday and friday, we have the greatest concerns. the storm is even with orlando. it's about 130 miles east-southeast of daytona beach. pressure has been dropping. that means the storm is getting stronger. that's the number, 996 millibars. the storm is finally on the move. it's beginning the journey p parallel. this is as close as it's going to get to florida. the florida coastline slants in a bit. the effects in florida are minimal. large waves and dangerous rip currents, yes, so stay on land. the rainy side will be on the ocean, not the water.

here is the updated track. the cone of uncertainty is yellow. the center line gives us a general guidance. eastern north carolina and still portions of cape cod, extreme east maine and nova scotia. the track takes it as a hurricane. 60 hours to strengthen. after that, it will peak and weaken. 85-mile-per-hour hurricane near north carolina 2:00 a.m. friday. it's not too far from now. we have a lot of families on the outer banks down to the wilmington area. it's going to be interesting to see what the emergency managers tell these families if they should go home or ride out the storm there. those decisions will be made this morning. then the storm on friday parallels the coast and heads out to sea. areas like d.c., philly and connecticut little if any impact friday night. all the fireworks plans should be fine.

breezy, but no rain to deal with. here is the uncertainty with the forecast model. a lot track it over eastern north carolina and avoid areas of new england. thomas, again, the worst effects, if we going to see the pictures, get damage from waves and wind, it will come about 10:00 p.m. thursday from wilmington to cape hatteras. >> from ocean city, maryland to connecticut, they are off. what are the chances of that changing? >> not a lot. the cold front gives severe storms today and tomorrow. it will push the storm out to sea. there's going to be a lot of big waves and dangerous rip current. stay out of the water from maryland to rhode island and long island. i wouldn't cancel your plans. >> good to know. thanks so much. the surge in children and families illegally entering the u.s. led to a stand off in california. hundreds of protesters forced a

bus to turn around. the protesters blocked the entrance waving american flags and protest flags. it was to prevent overcrowding. the mayor urged people unhappy with the decision to protest the transfer. more than 52,0 0 unaccompanied kids illegally entered the u.s. loved ones said good-bye to three teens murdered after being kidnapped by hamas. a joint funeral was held for the boys. one who had israeli and american citizenship. prime minister benjamin netanyahu was there. israel responded with air strikes on dozens of hamas targets. netanyahu met with the cabinet to find those responsible for

check point. a hospital was also evacuated as police and militants exchanged fire. vladimir putin is threatening to respond with force. europe is considering a round of sanctions against moscow. president obama is doubling down on his promise of executive orders if congress fails to act. he urged members of the cabinet to be creative. john boehner is vowing to sue the president for using actions to bypass congress. president obama is not backing down. >> i'm going to keep taking action on my own to help the middle class. they criticize me for this. boehner cease suing me for this. i told him, i would rather do things with you. pass some laws. middle class families can't wait for the republican congress to

this could be a new revenue stream for twitter. we may be able to buy directly from twitter for people advertising on those sites. watch this space for twitter. >> personal health news for jpmorgan ceo, jaime diamond announcing throat cancer. how does this affect the bank operation moving forward? >> this is interesting. diamond sent a letter to shareholders saying it is a condition, which is curable. the prognosis is excellent. there's no evidence of a spread of this cancer. he will be able to be actively involved as chief executive and chairman. the power is very much with one man of jpmorgan. it went through a shareholder resolution in may of last year. it was voted down by the majority of shareholders.

welcome back. time for sports and the world cup's final matches and the round of 16. belgium and the u.s. tim howard showing he is the x-factor early. howard continues to play hero. with the u.s. unable to produce on offense, it might have been a one-man team. things remain in a deadlock through regulation. two minutes into the extra period, belgium tucks inside the far post for the first lead of the match. belgium scores on the 31st shot of the day. at this point, the u.s. had 32 shots throughout the entire thing. the u.s. tries to even things up. belgium wasn't done scoring yet.

being treated for alcohol addiction. labeouf is not in a rehab facility, but is receiving treatment. he understands these recent actions are part of another health problem. the "transformers" actor was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct during a performance of "cabaret." he was put in a face mask because he would not quit spitting. at least a dozen people are recovering after a propane tank exploded in philadelphia yesterday. you can see the massive explosion and fire ball from a nearby surveillance camera. a mother and daughter were unfortunately inside the truck at the time. four people in the hospital. eight others were treated and released.
