i'm interesting in solving the problem. >> he wants to put your colleagues in congress to act rather than focus on an image that might be splashed across a few papers, but ultimately will not address what you point out what appears to be a humanitarian crisis. >> i have been to lack land air force base, where we have the kids. there are no photographs, nobody's interested in photographs, but i think, like any crisis, i think a commander should go down there and, not only see the children that are there, hung dreads and thousands of them. i should thank the border patrol that works so hard to secure the border. and number three, what about the poor areas of the border where there are nonprofits and churches that are out of their generosity are helping. this is not a rich area of the country and i think for those

reasons he should go see what i have seen there more than once. >> governor perry says the american people don't trust the president, he also said they don't trust congress. the president says he ask prepared to act. how prepared do you believe your colleague, especially those across the aisle, the house republicans are to acting and doing something legislatively that can address this issue? >> well, you know, there's two issues here, one is we have to make a change to the human trafficking act of 2008, hopefully we can do this in a bipartisan way, number one, number two, we have got to look at the proposal that the president is talking about, and the funding and i'm hoping as a member of the appropriations working with democrats and the republicans, we can come up with something that will address the issue, the tension, taking care of these kids that are down there and working with those countries so we can return them safely in safe hands to those countries. >> all right, congressman, thank you so much for your time, we

greatly appreciate it. now let me bring in dallas county judge clayton who's help -- of the children who's crossed into the u.s. in dallas county. he sat in on the round table meeting in dallas with governor perry and other local leaders. before we discuss the campaign to help some 2,000 children, let me get your thoughts on the meeting yesterday, do you believe there was some progress made on, do you have any hope that a solution is on the horizon? >> we had a constructive hour and 15 minute meeting, we talked about the issues in detail. and i feel like progress was made, but let me say this, here in dallas county, we have a job to do, we're skpdoing our job t president was fully engaged, he's doing their job.

respectfully to the congressman, i would say it's time for you in congress to do your job. we need to pass that supplemental. for those of you who are concerned about the children and everyone should be because these are children, these are not aliens, these are not terrorists, they're children like your children and my children. and 1 $.8 bi.8 billion of this supplemental goes towards having compassion for these children, 1.6 billion goes towards better securing our border. surely we can agree that we need a secure border and we need to have compassion and decency to children. >> you and i both know that everyone does not see it through the lens you view this. i mean you've got a meeting yesterday in vasser, michigan, where people spoke out against a plan to house some of those children that you have reached

out to assist. you saw the drama play out in california, at the detention center, when the busses were forced to turn around after angry residents said they did not want these children and women in many cases in their communities. i don't want to ask why people process things differently, because there are a million reasons to that. but when you see someone like a glen beck, a conservative hero and his own audience turning against him, some of them when he says he wants to reach out to help these children. how do you process that? >> i think that people need to put their partisan politics aside and if you want to listen to a leader, go ask your faith leader what you should do in a situation where children are alone and feel abandoned and are terrified in overcrowded conditions, where there are 30 children in a glass holding cell, pressing their faces against the glass so they can

see their brothers and sisters who are moved away from them. where there are babies crying for their mother while being changed by border patrol agents and it smells like body odor because the children aren't bathed more than every few days, and ask yourself, what's the right thing to do? what does your bible tell you? what does the words on the statue of liberty tell you? what do your american values tell you? if we stop looking at these children as others and invaders and aliens and we look at them as children and as human beings, then we'll know how to handle this humanitarian crisis. >> just quickly i have to ask you, your constituents say you're turning a federal problem into a dallas county problem. what do you say to those critics. >> we're standing up for the government to provide services at their expense. we're doing what we do best,

has been will the president go to the border? me said he wouldn't. governor rick perry is down there, but now the question is what is going to happen next? you heard from rick perry, you heard from john boehner who said this is about sending national guard troops to the border. i just talked with josh ernest, the press secretary. he said the president is willing to do that, but the better way is to approve this $2.7 billion request. you just heard the heart felt comments, so the question is what ands next for these children. senators are going to be growing some of the key members of the administration including the homeland security secretary, about what should happen here. that's where the debate moves now. away from the optics of this, will he or won't he go to the border? 242 miles away from where i'm standing and what do we actually do to deal with this crisis,

>> reporter: that's right, tamron, good morning and there's been some confusion for the morning over exactly how much of a threat this theft of uranium poses, not least because the iraqi government wrote to the u.n. warning that body that this uranium had been -- that's the reason why the west should get more involved in iraq. but we're now hearing from the iraqi foreign ministry that small samples have been taken. we're also talking to an expert from the international atomic energy authority who is saying that this kind of uranium would be bad at making a bomb that wouldn't spread radio active material very effectively. they're also saying that it does not present a significant safety, security or nuclear p

33-year-old ron lee haskell is not their father as first reported. he was charged with capital murder this morning. police say haskell was married to a relative of one of the adult victims. the lone survivor, a 15-year-old girl was shot in the head and left for dead, she was able to lead police to the suspect. >> she was co-herpt enough to tell us who did it, what he's driving, and was able to give us a street name of where the rest of the family lived. it was our understanding he was going to go to the location and kill more folks there. >> police briefly chase and finally cornered haskell by boxing him in with armored vehicles, he gave himself up after three hours. miguel joins us with the very latest. >> reporter: this is the crime scene, this is where police say the suspect came in and shot and killed six people. they say he came here dressed as a fedex worker, knocked on the door. here's what police told us just a short time ago. >> came in with the guise of a

fedex driver wearing a fedex shirt, came to this resident, gathered up the children that were here and awaited the arrival of the parents. sometime later, the victims were shot in this residence. >> reporter: police say the suspect shot and killed all six people inside including four children and two adults execution style. a 15-year-old girl who was a relative of the suspect was able to call police and tell them the next location he was headed to. officers then met him at that location, that ensued what was a brief police chase. and a three-hour standoff. eventually the suspect turned himself in. investigators at this hour say they have no motive. as for that 15-year-old girl, she remains in critical condition. cameras captured a wall of mud and debris destroying part of a japanese town and even more

are a couple of headlines when sarah palin mayor may not have been trying to angle a job on the view. this is interesti ing as are th other people on this list. >> the big take awake from this story is the people who disappeared from this whole political arena, either by choice or if they have retired. the public sometimes says we have had enough. and that's certainly true for sarah palin in this poll. it was more than six in ten democrats said they have had enough of sarah palin, a majority of independents and even nearly four in ten republicans said that. but of course there were other folks as well, they said 51% said they heard enough of jesse jackson, you had 45% dick cheney, 40% al gore. maybe the most interesting surprise of all was just 32% said they had had enough of bill clinton. which i were you were hillary clinton or democrats wanting her candidacy is, that shows that

having a fund-raiser in texas but not going down to the border. president obama has had some criticism. you saw last night was president obama trying to turn back the discussion, the tables back to congress saying they need to be able to letting slate to help fix this, that congress needs to be part of the solution here, so the president talks about hid policy, let's make cher the policy fixes work more than all the attention on the up optics whether the president should be on the border or not. >> it sounds as if it would be in the end, you can take a photograph, you can have optics matter but without congress acting, this conversation goes nowhere. >> i think that's right. and of course, i think the president's doing his best to be able to turn the subject back to congress, but the presidency has always been the biggest focus of things. what grabs headlines the president or the congress.

just because you work out doesn't mean you'll have a six-pack. do you agree with those comments? 98% said yes and 4% said no. it is all about muscle power. look at football players, wrestlers, discuss throwers, et cetera. i think prince's representation of body types is right on. we need to look at this with the same type of diversity as we look at skin color. the primetime emmy award nominations were announced this morning. and hbo's "game of thrones" leading the way with 19 nods. other shows coming up big include "fargo" mini series with 18 nominations and "american horror story" with 17. several fan favorites getting a lot of buzz is "orange is the new black" and "house of cards." and "true detective" picked up best nod for woody harrelson and matthew mcconaughey.

joining me to break it all down, awards editor pete hammond. thanks for your time. >> sure. good to be here. let's talk about the good news before the wrinkle in this which is the whole "walking dead" thing. game of thrones, 19 nods. >> amazing, right? the show has been nominated four years in a row. it really, i think, came into its own with emmy voters this year. they just love this show. it's the hot, cooler buzz show of the year. everybody talks about it. and i think that's translated into the emmy vote. >> it has. some of the other drama series, breaking bad, house of cards. mad men, true detective, but the comedy series very intriguing when you look at "big bang theory," "louie," "orange is the new black" and "veep." looking at netflix and its impact on how we watch tv. >> amazing what netflix, within shouting distance with 31

nominations of the major networks now. and it's really changed the way we do watch tv now. you can watch it when you want to watch it, full seasons. to have a best comedy series with orange is the new black whether you think that's haw , funny, is remarkable for this service. it's really revolutionary for television. and i think hemmy voemmy voters recognizing that. we have a chance to break that "modern family" stranglehold which has won four years in a row. >> you look at lead actresses and actors, how can you pick between these people. julianna margulies, claire dans, kerry washington. i'm going for kerry for this one. and the lead actor in a comedy is very tough. jim parsons, matt leblanc, don cheadle, william h. macy. and those categories are really tough. >> these are tough. television is so vast now, there's so many different

platforms and ways to go that the quality there is there and it's drawing all these great actors there. i think julianna margulies had the best year she's ever had on "the good wife" and i thought "the good wife" should have been in drama series, but it was cut out. the major networks just don't do well in that category. i think jim parsons for big bang theory will probably continue his run of winning in the male actor for comedy series. "the walking dead." the only thing i want to do next in life is to appear as a zombie on "the walking dead" but i don't want anything hanging out beyond that. what happened? this show is amazing. >> two nominations for sound editing and special effects. that's it. not even makeup this year? >> right. >> not even makeup? it's about zombies. academy voters are total snobs. they don't want to vote for a show about zombies. they had billboards highlighting the human aspect of this show which is outstanding. it's the number one show on television if you look at the
