it's unusual. the weather across the country will be a little bit unusual. the weather pattern has a buckle in the jet stream. that's the blue line. the predominant strong wind that go from west to east across the northern hemisphere. when you get a buckle like that you have extremes. it's going to be 104 in idaho. but it's going to be about 10 to 20 degrees below average in areas of the great lakes. in the east it's going to be flooding rains and tropical humidity coming up ahead of the system. kind of a little bit of everything. there's no cold out there yet. it's a little cool in fargo. temperatures in the 0u6r. that's pretty typical for this time of year. it hasn't arrived yet. it comes in during the day today. tomorrow morning you'll feel it in the great lakes. it'll be unusually a little cool. the windows will be on the way to work. save a few bucks on the july electric bill. 78 for the high tomorrow in chicago. and the heart of the cool type

for the tens of thousands of children who have reached the yietsd. you'll see this week is a couple of efforts in congress in which lawmakers will detail proposals that also go toward amending a 2008 law that right now prevents the administration from immediately deporting these children. right now under u.s. law, if you come from mexico you can be deported pretty quickly. central america the children have more protection under antihuman trafficking laws. the republicans said we need the changes to the law. the white house said they'll support them but they're controversial among democrats and immigration advocates who think you don't want to deport the kids too quickly. it's a key part of possibly the money becoming the bill that pass congress. but it is obviously crunch time. it's going to have to happen quickly. >> we hear from rick perry who suggest you get national guard troops at the border. >> it's a change for the president when you have the border crisis. you weigh in on the deadly

crisis in gaza. what is the priority and what is the approach in dealing with both of these issues at once? >> well, i mean, the administration has probably more influence on the issue on the border. but obviously the foreign policy advisers to the president are trying to weigh the situation overseas. john kerry came off months of trying to negotiate a peace plan in the region. the president called benjamin netanyahu and said the united states sharply condemns the rocket attacks but offers the united states help in trying to broker a peace agreement. it's not clear israel is looking for are the help. it's a difficult situation. i think these are being worked on independently in the administration but two big chan challenges. >> certainly big challenges with lots at stake. the welfare of the kids and the lives lost in the mideast. thank you for being with us. thank you. first buzz is just ahead
