the crime, similar to manslaughter could carry up to 15 years prison time. pistorius was convicted of firing a gun in a restaurant. he was cleared of two other firearm charges. thursday, he cried as the judge announced she wouldn't convict him on two murder charges. a sentencing will be held for the charge he got convicted of. a lot of people talking about the nfl. the ravens took to the field under the cloud of the ray rice scandal. the video's impact was inescapable. cbs scrapped the pregame program that was supposed to feature rihanna because of the coverage of the fallout. the team owners apologized, explained the organization's shortcoming and cast it as a watershed moment. >> had you known in february

what was on that video inside the elevator, would you have fired him then? >> we would have been told to wait until the court case came out. they had it. the police had it and gave them equal misdemeanors that night. again, it's astounding to me. for me to tell you the truth, it makes me look like i'm pointing fingers at other people, but, they gave them equal misdemeanors. >> you are saying you weren't geting a signal from the courts in new jersey that this was as bad -- >> or the prosecutor that gave him probation. >> if this is a seminal moment for domestic violence and the way we handle it as a society, then that's not a burden for us to beat a poster boy. it's not.

against each other and far more focused on beating president assad's government than taking on militants. they are outgunned by the terror group and outmanned with isis numbers topping out at 31,000 fighters. saudi arabia is going to provide bases to train the fighters. egypt, jordan, lebanon and several nations are pledging tepid support for that campaign. still, it will likely take months before the boots on the ground will be ready for any battle. it's a complicated position for the obama administration pledging to destroy isis without acknowledging that america is back at war. >> i think that's the wrong terminology. what we are doing is engaging in a very significant counterterrorism operation. it's going to go on for some period of time. somebody wants to think about it

as being a war with isil, they can do so. the fact is, it's a major counterterrorism operation that will have many different moving parts. >> okay. use planes, use bombs, use guns, that's war. moving on. ohio authorities caught a man convicted of killing three fellow students after he escaped from prison overnight. he and two others escaped late thursday. one was quickly apprehended. the other is still on the loose. he pled guilty to shooting three students at a high school outside of cleveland in 2012. three other students were also injured. the school canceled classes for today and is offering counseling to their students. now on to business. new revelations on how far the u.s. government went to get yahoo! to hand over data as part of the nsa surveillance program.

jeff joins us live from london. my god, it sounded like a tough shakedown of yahoo! when they refused to hand over the info. why did they give in? >> it's a good job, but we all trust our government otherwise, we might get upset. "the washington post" discovered back in 2008, the government put pressure on yahoo! to hand over information about its users and said if they didn't, they would it's not like they have form on looking at the right material, right?

>> no doubt about it. a couple other quick things i want to get to this morning. one has to do with radioshack. there was a great ad, basically the '80s called and they want their show back. they want their store back. now, the end may be near for radioshack. what is happening? >> yeah. this is a tough story, isn't it? >> yeah. >> this company is supposed to be in a restructuring phase at the moment. they are sending out an s.o.s., it seems. they may have to file for chapter 11 here. the turn around doesn't seem to be happening quickly enough. we have a look at second quarter, same store sales down 20%. oops. that's not so good. we had a net loss of 119 it was, $119.4 million. the turn around story not happening quickly enough. that means they may have to put themselves up for sale here or at least file for chapter 11 to restructure their debt.

>> obviously a lot of talk in great britain. banks are getting involved. some are threatening to leave the country? >> yeah. this is a scary story if you are in scotland and have an account in any of these banks. royal bank in scotland, lloyds standard life. they all came out and said, if in this referendum, they decide to leave the union of countries in the united kingdom, maybe they will move their either their tax or business headquarters south or they will gradually rejuice their engagement north of the border. so, just a reminder of what's at stake when the scotts go to the ballot next week on the 18th to decide whether they want to be part of the united kingdom. it's pocketbook story over a head story, i think, this morning. we'll l3w a little more about that, no doubt, over the coming
