christie says the same policy is in that state. they face growing criticism and white house pressure for requiring 21-day quarantined from those returning from west africa if they had contact with ebola patients. governor christie is defending the plan and denies he was contacted by the white house. >> i don't believe, when you're dealing with something as serious as this, that we can count on a voluntary system. this is government's job. if anything else, protect the safety and health of our citizens. so we have take en this action. i have no second thoughts about it. i believe it will be a national policy sooner rather than later. >> it puts governor christie at odds with one of the nation's top health officials who say the quarantines could have unintended consequences. >> the best way to stop the epidemic is to send people over from the usa and other places.

we need to treat them, returning people, with respect and make sure -- they're really heros. so the idea, it's a little bit draconian. monitoring, direct monitoring, there's active monitoring. we don't necessarily need to do that. >> republican congressman daryl issa says americans do not think americans are happy with the white house response, but not happy about the mandatory quarantines. >> the science has told us, if we are to take them at their word, if they don't have an elevated temperature or later symptoms, they are not contagious. if that's true, then immediate isolation is not the answer. again, trust matters. >> and the national journal took to twitter to compare the quarantine policy to world war ii internment camps. when questioned, he wrote

120,000 japanese does not equate one healthy health care worker. curbing liberty in the name of fear, that's familiar. the first nurse to be quarantined has retained two lawyers and breaking her silence. kaci -- hickox is getting a lawyer after being detained. the 15 by 20 foot tent, it's not heated and lacks a shower facility. she's tested negative and demanding to be released and criticizing governor chris christie. >> first of all, i don't think he's a doctor. and secondly, he's never laid eyes on me. if he knew anything about ebola, than asymptomatic people are not infectious. i understand that people feel like they have a risk. and i feel like we can have a conversation about what further measures might look like.

hagan had led by four points. and kansas, pat roberts appeared to have battled his way back into contention. it was when greg orman led by 10 points. we look here, 45-44%. and iowa, republican state north joni ernst leading bruce aprily 49-46. and then finally, arkansas, republican congressman tom cotton has gone down from a five point lead to a two point lead with cotton ahead 45-43. elizabeth warren finds herself in very familiar territory, campaigning against scott brown. the massachusetts senator who defeated then-senator brown by eight points in 2012. rallied democrats in favor of the incumbent in new hampshire, senator jeanne shaheen. >> it did not cross my mind.

that after beating scott brown that what he would do is he would pack up his pickup truck and move to his vacation home in new hampshire to become the candidate to try to run against jean she lean. you can pack up your pickup truck. but i don't care how fast you drive it, you're not going to outrun your voting record in the united states senate. >> according to a recent poll, senator shah lean leads 49. 47, within the margin of error. and a troubling picture for both parties just eight days before election day. disapproval for congressional democrats as a 20-year high. 67% gave the dem lawmakers thumbs down, they are more popular than the develop. more than 70% disapprove of

congressional republicans and 25% approve. and overall, more than three-fourths of americans disapprove of congress's performance. 20% felt law makers are doing a good job. and presidential politics, and the increase talk much jeb bush in 2016.
