tried to negotiate with state officials. >> i don't want to hurt anyone in the public, but i don't think this is an acceptable line to be drawn. when we let stigma win, we all lose. we have to fight it from the beginning. i have been told if friends come to my house, they can't hug me, they have to stay three feet away from me. i am not symptomatic. you are telling me i can't hug my friend after i have been fighting a tough battle for four weeks in west africa. it's painful. it's emotionally draining. >> without naming names, president obama criticized people -- >> when i hear people talking about american leadership and then promoting policies that would avoid leadership and have us running in the opposite

direction and hiding under the cove covers. it makes me a little frustrated. i put those on notice who think we should hide from these problems. that's not who we are. that's not who i am. it's not who these folks are. this is america. we do things differently. >> officials in louisiana are asking health care workers returning from south africa not to attend a disease conference in new orleans. in a new poll, 80% of americans support quarantines for u.s. citizen zs returning from west africa. this brings us to our twitter question after seeing what kay si hickox has to say. is there a better way to

him leading burke by seven points. they were tied earlier this month. it is the largest lead for walker since march. walker's lead ships one point among registered voters. the contest could damage governor walker's chances, if he decides to run for president in 2016. senate candidates are releasing their final ads w the election away. one urging north carolina voters to vote against hagen. here is a look. >> if you want to shake up washington, then your candidate is tom tillis. tom will roll up his sleeves and go to work on solving the mess of obamacare and help our struggling economy create good jobs from paper boy to short order cook to executive of one of america's great companies. tom tillis has proved he can get

the job done. support tillis for senate. >> he tells donors he has never been ahead of hagen on internal polling. he is tied with her for the first time. democratic senator is pushing a new web ad that the republican scott brown on the jobs in new hampshire. they worked at technologies in massachusetts until their jobs were outsourced. >> scott brown is stabbing us in the back and selling us out. right now, he's working for that company that exported the jobs. >> i don't think scott brown is going to take care of me or the people of new hampshire more than he did before. >> scott brown is not for us and definitely not for new hampshire. >> scott brown is scott brown and big money. >> a recent cbs news/new york times poll shows senator shaheen

with a lead over brown. we may get a preview of the presidential race on the campaign trail. jeb bush is going after hillary clinton for these comments she made last week at a campaign rally in massachusetts. >> don't let anybody tell you that, you know, it's corporations and businesses that create jobs. you know that old theory, trickle down economics. that has been tried. that has failed. it has failed rather spectacularly. >> so, clinton admitted she misspoke. bush criticized the remarks in colorado. >> this last week, i saw something that was breathtaking. a candidate, a former secretary of state who was campaigning in massachusetts where she said that don't let them tell you

that businesses create jobs. well the problem in america today is that not enough jobs are being created. they are created by businesses where people's income rise where they can live a life of purpose and meaning independent of government. that should be the mission. >> clinton and bush say they are deciding if they are going to make a run for the white house in 2016. senator rand paul is not mincing words when it comes to the problems or failings. the newspaper reports the kentucky senator said his brand sucks telling the brand, remember dominos pizza? they said hey, our pizza sucks. african-americans have had nothing to do with republicans. why? because of a perception. the perception is no one in the republican party cares. paul made his remarks at a gop

field office in detroit. he returned. we turn now to hawaii's big island and the flow of lava inching slowly but surely to a residential area. they will be on the scene in pahoa. as it looms to the residential neighborhood, it is a sight. we have more on the story from above. >> we are at the tip of the spear. this is the edge of the pahoa lava flow. 40 to 50 homes are potentially in the direct path of the lava. >> getting smokey in here. >> this home is a lucky one. the flow path is within a few hundred yards of the house. it doesn't look like the lava is moving, but it is. it's going from five yards an hour to 20 yards an hour. this is so slow moving, the lava

on top is hardening and blackening. there's red hot lava underneath. it feels like we are in a furnace. we are close to the lava. you can see the breakouts. we can barely breathe. it's smokey and thick. this is feeding the lava flow heading over the town of pahoa. it's basically a bathtub full of lava. it acts as insulation keeping the lava hot. that crust is like ice on a lake. underneath are the tubes funneling the lava toward civilization. it's been about 17 weeks and this thing has traveled 12 miles. it shows no sign of stopping just yet. it's nature at its most powerful. breathtakingly beautiful. dangerous and devastating. >> yes, stunning from above. dangerous and devastating from
