you googled where to go vote yet? plus new details on the investigation of what caused the crash of a virgin galactic spaceship and then taylor swift in another break up. the 20 something says good-bye to spotify. guess they better shake it off. this is way too early. that will wake you up in the morning. good morning, i'm thomas robinson. it's tuesday november 4th where there's no shaking us off today. welcome to this special election day edition of way too early. let's get right to it. the white house is bullish on the midterms predicting that the party will hold the senate even if others say otherwise. we have three major models giving republicans high odds of taking the senate. the washington post election lab 96%. mitt romney spent the final days before voting campaigning in

alaska. sullivan is in a statistical tie. another race tightening as well all across the country and since it's last poll less than a week ago they're saying that colorado democrat is closing that gap with the challenger corey gardener and in iowa bruce bradley pulled into a dead heat with republican joni ernst. last night she was mumm over whether he would have her support. >> support mcconnell. >> i'm not there yet. i have to win an election. >> so we go to georgia, david purdue and michelle nunn could be headed to a nine week run off. republicans weeded out the field of tea party candidates but even in state republicans acknowledge

nunn's pressure on purdue's record have kept this race very close. >> can we just ask you a couple of questions before you go. can i ask you about this issue of outsourcing? yesterday you said you didn't outsource any jobs. today you seem to suggest you did. have you ever outsourced any jobs. >> no, i never said that today. this is another distraction to keep the people of georgia away from the critical issues and that's that they're not producing jobs here at home. people in georgia want this. obamacare, amnesty are effecting jobs here in georgia. >> what about interest in the races after an expensive and toxic season? 16.4 million votes have already been cast in 31 states. that surpasses 2010 midterms. now in iowa there's more registered republicans voting early than democrats and in

colorado more republicans are returning their ballots by mail by democrats and in north carolina despite fewer days early voting is up 20% from the last midterm in 2010. registered democrats outvoted republicans by almost 16% and participation among african americans and women is up as well but republicans faced a similar deficit there in 2012 after early voting and romney went on to secure the state. this morning we learned already in nebraska early voting has topped 2012. a presidential election year and is the second highest on record for them. meanwhile new gallop polling is showing how unpopular president obama is in key battleground states. the president has an approval rating of 41% across the country and in georgia, iowa, kansas, and arkansas it's that low or worse. yesterday the house democratic leader took his own party to task for failing to convince voters of the president's

policies. >> they have successfully made this campaign a referendum on president obama which i don't believe would be all that important if we as democrats had done a better job of messaging exactly what the president has done. >> so he added the democrats didn't frame obamacare well to their constituents and he went a step further in describing the factors in play at southern states. >> for anybody to say that there's nothing that's racial about some of the animos expressed by barrack obama you're not telling the truth. the fact of the matter is we know that with a lot of people, i don't care what he does, he is not going to be acceptable because of his skin color. now having said that, i do believe that those of us who are

she votes like michelle bauchmann she's wrong for the state of iowa. >> i shouldn't have said those things. i know that. i regret any time someone feels offended by what i have said. but i am only human and i can make mistakes sometimes. i have complimented her on running a good campaign. >> egyptian officials tell the ap that egypt is holding talks with saudi arabia and united arab imrants and kuait. meanwhile, the u.s. is considering new strikes on another militant group in syria. they're connected to al qaeda and considered a rival to the islamic state and this comes as the u.s. is down playing gains made by the group in syria. they defeated u.s. backed rebels

many of whom defected yet officials say it's a temporary set back and france is warning the u.s. coalition must help rebels have second largest city from militants. >> federal safety officials are getting ready to enter the next phase of their competition in the deadly virgin galactic crash. the debris from the spaceship was found up to 35 miles away. so the agency's acting chairman says the parts may have been blown by the wind making the debris feel much larger. officials are moving debris in the hangers as they investigate the crash that left one pilot dead and another seriously hurt. cockpit video shows that the co-pilot deployed the breaks too soon. virgin galactic founder is vowing that the strategy and this tragedy will not deter his team. >> they're going to move forward

and create a spaceship company that will be hopefully one day the marvel of the world. yes it's been a horrible set back particularly obviously for his family and for mike himself. but, you know, we owe it to him to continue and that we will do. >> so far more than 700 passengers have paid as much as $250,000 each for a ride into space once virgin galactic is up and running properly. >> police released chilling new surveillance video after a woman being abducted off a philadelphia street before 10:00. this woman is identified as a 22-year-old struggling to fight off her attacker before being thrown into the back of a 2000 ford tauris. so she managed to break both rear windows but was unable to escape. they're classifying the abduction as random but family

members believe the woman that worked as a nursing aid may have known the attacker. there's a $10,000 reward being offered to capture the suspect and bring a conviction. >> memorial in russia dedicated to former apple ceo steve jobs has been dismantled in response to current ceo tim cook's announcement that he's gay. so the monument more than six feet tall and in the shape of an iphone was erected in 2016 by a group of russian companies. so in a statement on monday they stated a russian law combatting gay propaganda as the reason for removing it. last year russian president vladimir putin signed a law presenting the spread of gay propaganda. but oddly enough just last month in russia you could get a putin iphone cover. put that on your iphone. slap it on. now to business, tuesday

midterms have been good to the markets. usually rising after the polls close but as usa reports investors are hoping for a big republican sweep with one wall street strategist saying investors may have forgotten that the combination of democratic president and eun identified republican congress has been the best performance since 1945. steve joins us live from london to talk about this. the outcome of these elections will have an impact on the global financial system but if we follow the money leading up to it what's the indication. >> it's interesting. a little wall street money is going to republican candidates but as you said whoever wins the confidence that the market gets from that is normally very good for the market. that scenario where you have a congress with one party in control plus a democratic president we see 15% rally in stocks regardless of which party is in control of congress and if it is split we still see a 13%

rally in stocks. either way it's really good. in the 90 days post the midterm stocks rally 86% of the time going back to 1928. going back to 1946 over a 12 month period they rally 100% of the time but in terms of those campaign contributions 6 out of 10 of the biggest house candidates are republicans. the only man to break the $1 million mark is john boehner at $1.1 million followed by eric cantor. and changing subjects just very slightly moving on to taylor swift and spotify. she was removing her songs and albums from the streaming service. they said we love taylor swift and our users love her and we hope that she'll change her mind. pretty much that's why we pay nearly 70% of our revenue back to the music community. what she is hoping is he'll get
