show that has a lot of questions today for johnny dep. that's coming up. she has some questions of her own. we have the parents of the american aid worker beheaded by isis. they are going to be speaking out at a news conference. officials say they have a authenticated a video that revealed that peter kassig was executed. the indianapolis native and former army ranger was kidnapped last year during an aid mission in syria. his participants say he converted to islam during captivity and began using a different name. in a statement, president obama said in part, he was taken from us in an act of pure evil by a terrorist group that the world rightly associates with inhumanity. it stands in stark contrast to

troops in iraq. remarks made by president obama appear to show a slight change about combat troops. >> there are always circumstances in which the united states might need to deploy u.s. ground troops. if we discovered that isis had gotten possession of a nuclear weapon and we had to run an operation to get it out of their hands, then yes, you can anticipate that not only would chairman dempsey recommend me sending ground troops to get that weapon out of their hands, but i would order it. >> presidential nominee mitt romney is criticizing president obama's response to the rise of isis. he should not rule out boots on the ground. >> i just don't think you take things off the table. i don't think you say we're going to destroy isis. when the president says that isis is a cancer and it must be eliminated, he's right. but you don't say, well, we're only going to use the following tools. we're going to do whatever it

takes and hopefully we'll be able to do that with other people's troops, but you don't take that as a source of our strength from the battlefield. >> russian president vladimir putin is pushing back on reports he left early from the g-20 submit because of criticism from world leaders. when putin offered a handshake to canada's prime minister he responded by saying i guess i'll shake your hand by i have one thing to say to you, you need to get out of ukraine. he wanted to be rested for the workweek. the u.s. joined japan in a statement condemning moscow for its actions across the ukrainian border. . president obama won't hesitate to slap more sanctions if it continues to reject international principles. >> one of those principles is that you don't invade other countries or finance proxies and support them in ways that break

up a country. at this point, the sanctions that we have in place are biting plenty good. >> back from a week-long trip to china, president obama is jumping right back into domestic politics. the president will make immigration his priority this week with meetings with top advisers on the books. it's believed the president will grant legal status to undocumented workers through an executive action, an issue that former president bill clinton says could have made a difference at the polls a few weeks ago. >> there was a collapse of the youth vote. the african-american vote held fairly steady and was remarkable given that we had a little bit of a loss of hispanic vote. perhaps because the president didn't issue the immigration order, but it was a tough call for him because had he done so, a lot of the others would have lost even more. it was a difficult call. >> yet another high profile republican is leaving the door wide open for a government

shutdown. senator john thune says the president is playing with fire by considering executive action on immigration. >> i think republicans are looking at different options about how best to respond to unilateral action, which is unconstitutional on this particular issue, but. my concern is shutting the government down doesn't solve the problem. it could be a record of legislative accomplish mement that's there for the taking if the president would choose cooperation instead of conflict. >> demonstrators return in ferguson, missouri, to decide whether he will charge the white police officer who shot an unarmed black teen. dozens of protesters since the death of 18-year-old michael brown. they peacefully lied down on the ground. dispatch received radio calls from august 9th.

the calls were for the fatal encounter lasted less than 90 seconds. video obtained by the post dispatch shows wilson wearing a white t-shirt leaving the police station two hours after the shooting and heading on to the hospital. another shows him returning about two hours later. the police chief in ferguson says wilson is legally allowed to return to active duty if not indicted. wilson is still subject to an internal investigation. we shift our focus to business and big news from facebook that could make the social networking site safer for work. plus a big shift in wages that could be good news for the overall economy. jeff joins us live from london. let's start with the pay of low wages for young workers. then we'll move on to facebook. let's start with the money. >> absolutely. this is fascinating. for a long time, people have been very critical of the recovery in the united states and said, hey, it's helping those at the top, but it's not

helping those at the bottom and the low paid. some data now from adp who co compiled payrolls makes fascinating reading. what they are suggesting is those who are paid less than 20,000 in the third quarter, they saw compensation rise faster in percentage terms than other groups. a 5.4% increment in pay for them. if you go to the 20,000 to 50,000 4.9% jump in the third quarter above 50,000. 4.3%. soo the indication is that the middle and lower income groups and younger workers are actually benefitting from this recovery, which should put it on to firmer ground as we go into 2015. i want to move you on to facebook. i think this is fascinate iing. a lot of companies have a very negative view on employees who waste their time in the offense looking at facebook.

now they may have justification for that. the ft says facebook is working secretly on a new business site. this would allow colleagues to collaborate on documents. it would allow them to chat internally within the company. you can do on microsoft and other services. you'd be able to share contacts. facebook thinks they can thrust into the corporate universe here and get a whole new slew of users. >> at least it would get people back on their desk tops instead of their cell phones. that's a secret way to do it. jeff, thank you. let's move on to this story. it's a big talker over the weekend. we have an attorney from bill cosby speaking out about the sexual allegations that have resurfaced. his lawyer says the claims are decades old and discredited that the comedian has no plans to dignify the allegations with a

response. he refused to respond to questions saturday during an interview with npr. cosby is facing increase d scrutiny after a woman wrote a detailed essay accusing him of drugging and raping her in 1985 when she was 17. and late last night, a music publicist went public with her claims that cosby raped her when she was 19. in the past bill cosby denied any allegations of sexual assault and no charges have ever been filed. cosby currently has a sitcom development at nbc. when you hear about this, these allegations, does it influence your opinion of bill cosby? should he address them directly? tweet us your thoughts. we'll put the best ones on later in the show. we have all had impact from bill cosby in our lives. whether a kid watching "the cosby show", we all have deep

time for sports. we begin with the patriots and colts on "sunday night football" and what was expected to be a shootout. jonas stole the spotlight running for four touchdowns. brady added a pair of td passes and the patriots beat the colts, 42-20. to st. louis, sean hill making his return throwing for 220 yards including a 63-yard touchdown pass. the rams shock the bronco with a 22-7 victory. to kansas city, chiefs running back jamaal charles rushed for 2 touchdowns.
