flooding is a threat. we spoke to ha homeowner bracing for impact. >> it is unsettling. unnerving. and i can consider myself a very calm -- but it's very unnerving. because you don't know how high it's going to get. >> details ahead for the rest of today's forecast. right now in chicago, a chaotic scene. an apartment building levelled in just seconds. on the south side, it crumbled after an explosion. trapped inside were two women and a dog. >> nothing but ashes and smoke. the lady was caved inside of all the -- the thing and everything. she was caved inside and he pulled her out. >> now the other woman and dog were rescued. they were both hospitalized. no word on what caused the 3-year-old building to pancake.

and ferguson, missouri, a grand jury reconvenes later this morning. supporters of michael brown marv marched in shaw, missouri. an announcement could come any moment on whether darren wilson will face charges. we are in clayton, missouri, with more on the timing of the grand jury's decision. >> reporter: church services in ferguson calling for justice for michael brown but with peaceful protests. >> non-violence is the way. >> reporter: even in pouring rain, sunday. many still drawn to the spot where the unarmed teenager was killed. >> i wanted my kids to see the importance of what's going on. you know, what's going on in ferguson and the whole st. louis area in general. >> reporter: over the weekend, barricades moved into place around the st. louis county justice center seemed to foreshadow a potential announcement here. where today a grand jury meets again. considering charges against

ferguson police officer darren wilson who says he acted in self-defense. the grand jury, 7 men, 5 women, 9 white, 3 black, the makeup of the county. 9 of the 12 must agree on the decision whether to indict. >> i feel sorry for these people. they know if they walk out of the grand jury room and may not have indicted, it's a massive riot in their city and throughout the united states. >> reporter: and close to where it happened, tension. >> it's really hard. the stress level is beyond the scales. >> reporter: as the family gives thanks for the support. >> i had to give back. >> reporter: giving turkeys away this thanksgiving week to the community that has supported them. although the prosecutor in this case has said that -- that all the evidence presented at the grand jury would eventually be released, that is not a foregone

to be in black areas. they won't be there if they weren't killing each other. >> white supremacy at work. >> all right. shift gears now to the debate over president obama's immigration reform plan. continuing this morning. he talked about the issue on abc's this week. he called on congress to pass a comprehensive immigration bill. >> ultimately congress has a responsibility to deal with these issues. and there are some things that i can't do on my own. what is absolutely true is that we couldn't solve the entire problem and still can't solve the entire problem. >> i am joined by tracie potts in washington. what can we expect from lawmakers today on this? >> reporter: more efforts from republicans, not only to roll back from the president's done, but also to punish him for that executive action. one republican from idaho says the president should be censu censured. a formal slap on the wrist from congress. ted cruz from texas, republican from texas, says that they

should look at not approving any of the president's nominees for the next two years until he goes back on this. we'll see president obama this week tomorrow in chicago continuing to pitch this plan. the president says it will not give permanent legal status or a break to 5 million immigrants, almost half of those here. but it will basically put them at the back of the line for being deported. texas, by the way, which has a huge impact because of its long border with mexico, is suing the federal government and also asking for reimbursement for the cost of this. they're already spending $15 million a month at the border. betty. >> thank you very much. right in time for thanksgiving, gas prices continue to plummet. down 10 cents a gallon in the past two weeks. regular down to $2.84. down 88 cents since may. and thank lower crude oil prices, high supply and a

sequestered. they're watching the exact same coverage we're watching. this country, like the trayvon martin case, has strong opinions about this case. and especially when you don't have a jury pool that's not seeing the media coverage, the president is trying to stay out of that and i think we may see a comment after the grand jury. >> there are a lot of comments on "meet the press" overed weekend with former new york mayor rudy giuliani and michael eric dyson. . this debate really got heated. and leads to the question, could there be a bigger discussion, should there be a bigger discussion regarding black on black violence. >> you know, i don't think anyone is confused about violence in predominantly black communities. i think that rudy giuliani is missing the point that 93% of blacks kill ready killed by other blacks. so are 83% of whites killed by over whites.

that number is from 2011. tyson says if you're a young black man, you're 20 time mrs. likely to be killed by police than a white man. that makes it feel rigged. especially for the black communities. they don't feel that they have -- the police have their back. you know what i mean? they feel at risk from talking to police. and i think that that -- i think it's hard. and i think those statistics are important. but there's a bigger story there that rudy giuliani seems to be sort of missing here. >> and, of course, all of this as we watch very closely for a decision coming out of ferguson. thank you very much, jane. appreciate it. remembering the colorful and controversial life of a washington fixture. plus panic in london as fire erupts inside a train station.
