some stories making news this morning in mexico the search continues for survivors of a deadly gas explosion outside of a maternity and children's hospital. three people including two babies are dead more than 70 people were injured, 17 of them in serious condition including nine babies the explosion leveled three-quarters of the hospital. thankfully several newborns were rescued from the rubble. the new republican controlled senate passed the keystone pipeline bill nine democrats were among the 62 to voted in favor of the bill. president obama has vowed over and over to veto it if passed. the house could either pass it as is or negotiate with the senate over differences in their bills. some alarming news for those of us who enjoy beer wine or other spirits, if you will. there is a connection between drinking alcohol and an increased risk of having a stroke. new research out of sweden studied 12,000 twins over 40 years, it it found that heavy drinkers, which is defined as

presidential candidate on the other side who is suddenly deeply concerned about poverty, does he have a point here? >> well he's a former presidential candidate but he also could be a presidential candidate again and i think that's what's really happening here is you've got mitt romney who is polling very high above the higher potential republican 2016 candidates and he's trying to reinvent himself as someone who is going to take on poverty, you've got to remember back in the 2012 election he struggled with the 47% comment and was perceived as largely wealthy, 1% and out of touch and he's try to combat that narrative this go around, but he faces competition from yeb bush scott walker marco rubio, rand paul and the list of them lindsay graham now. so i think it's a reinvention of mitt romney and president obama having a little bit of fun with it yesterday in philly my hometown. >> mitt romney not having much fun with it. he so the back on twitter

saying, mr. obama wonder why my concern about poverty? the record number of poor in your term and your record of failure to remedy. so can can that really solely be put on the president's shoulders? >> again, i think what you're seeing her, betty, is republicans part of a larger narrative here trying to fight back against democrats. as you know you have president obama during his state of the union address really laying the groundwork for the 2016 cycle and saying that this is going to be about the middle class and middle class economics and thk inequality so republicans are, including mitt romney are trying to have to sell a middle class pitch of their own and so i think you're seeing mitt romney inject poverty into this and i think you're seeing democrats inject income equality into this it's setting the foundation for larger debate ahead of this cycle. >> thank you so much kevin. have a great weekend. >> thanks for having me.
