the all-star line upset to take part. this is "way too early." good morning. it's tuesday, february 3rd. and this is "way too early." now, your vision this morning is not blurry. i'm will cane in for thomas roberts who is making hi ways back from phoenix. snow on the east coast is complicating travel. i've sat over there at that table on "morning joe" a few times. i look forward to spending the morning with you all. we begin this morning on the road to 2016. and an unexpected issue is emerging as a heated point of debate. vaccinations. while traveling in london new jersey republican governor chris christie created worldwide hels when casey hunt asked him about the measles outbreak in the u.s.

the possible 2016 candidate said there should be a balance on whether vaccinations should be mandatory for children. >> all i can say is we vaccinate ours. that is the best i can give you to express my opinion. it's much more important what you think as a parent than what you think as a public official. that's what we do. but i also understand that parents need to have some measure of choices, as well. so that is the baths that the government has to decide. we had our children vaccinated and we think it's an important part of making sure we protect their health and the public health. >> shortly thereafter christie's office clarified his remarks saying quote, to be clear, the governor believes vaccines are an important public health protection and with a disease like measles there is no question kids should be vaccinated. at the same time different states require different degrees of vaccination, which is why he was calling for balance in which

others need to mandate. raund paul doubled down on previous comments that he made that most vaccines should be voluntary. >> i've heard of many tragic cases of walking, talking, normal children who wound up with profound mental disorders after vaccines. i'm not arguing vaccines are a bad idea. i think they're a good thing. but i think the parent should have some input. the state doesn't own your children. parents own the children and it is an issue of freedom. >> thank you, newspaper. democratic front-runner hillary clinton seems to see things much differently. she tweeted, quote, the science is clear. the earth is round, the sky is blue and vaccines work. let's protect argue of outline kids. #grandmothersknowbest. that puts her on the same side as president obama who is urging parents to vaccinate their children. the debate isn't about the science, it's not about whether or not we should be vaccinating,

but whether or not it should be mandatory. on that note a new pugh study released last week suggested 68% of adults believe childhood vaccinations should be required. the same is true for 86% of scientists. 30% of adults believe parents should make that decision while only 13% of scientists believe that. now, if that wasn't enough problems for christie a new report in the "new york times" could post problems for how governor christie portrays himself if he chooses to run for president in 2016. the paper says he has a history of letting others foot the bill as he indulges in champagne at the four seasons. christie had his own private bedroom .more than a double people traveling with him. jordan's king abdulalla paid for a

google is getting ready to launch its own ride service. uber executives have seen google employees use what appears to be a ride sharing app. google adventures invested $48 million. google's chief legal office is on uber's board of directors and the board is considering asking him to resign. uber announced on twitter on monday that it's teaming up with carnegie mellon university to work on driverless cars. the founder of lululemon is stepping down from the company's board. chip wilson enraged many women in 2013 when faces with a massive recall of women's yoga parents after saying the fabric wasn't holding up and saying quote, some women's bodies don't work for their parents.

he later stepped down as chairman but we mind on the board. monday he said i believe now is the right time to step away. cuba has published the first photos of fidel kas castro in months. there's rumors that he may be dead. the images of castro are of him seated and said to be discussing current events with the head of the university of havanna's student union. the reports say the mouth took place on january 23rd at the former leader's home. these are the first new photos of castro seen since august. and a story that just keeps getting sadder the daughter of whitney houston and bobby brown is, quote, fighting for her life after being found face down in a bathtub this weekend. a cousin tells nbc news she is on a ventilator. a spokesman says there was no drugs found in the initial search of the 21-year-old's home. next week marks the three years
