the reaction to that horrific video jordan's pilot being burned alive, president obama called it barbaric and vicious the burning alive of the jordanian pilot saying that the ideals of this islamic state are bankrupt. we're getting reaction from the pentagon. the defense secretary nominee will be on capitol hill here today. the pentagon is saying we're not going to let up as they put it, nobody is letting off the gas as far as going after isis. they're still believed to be holding a young female aide worker. because she's a woman and because they haven't said a lot about holding her the possibility they will not execute her, it could offend some of their followers. >> indeed thank you. now to another breaking news

story, ntsb investigators are heading to the scene of a deadly commuter train accident mp reports say the female driver of an suv stopped on the tracks, the crossing gate came down, she got out of her car, then got back in that's when she was struck by the train, sparking an explosion. the suv driver and six train passengers died, making it the deadliest accident in metro history. about 650 of those passengers were onboard that train, most of them were safely evacuated by bus. 12 were taken to westchester medical center outside of new york city. that's where we find nbc's rehema ellis. what can you tell us about the condition of those passengers taken there? >> reporter: what we can tell you, as you pointed out, 12 passengers were brought to this medical center and we're

told that ten of them are seriously injured. we're going to pan the camera over so you can take a look at the facility where we went inside and saw some family and friends waiting in this in this facility for wait inging for word that their loved ones are going to be okay. they were waiting inside, and we're hoping we'll hear something a little bit later this morning. this tragic tragic accident occurred. but authorities point out that's important to remember that hundreds of passengers were able to walk away from this accident. let's hear from one of them. >> i felt a big bump and i got shot forward a little bit and then everything went silent and then there was a brief clip

statement from the conductor and then everything was silent after that, and then within, seconds or a minute after that happened, people in the front of the train started to say move back, move back, there's smoke in the front car, and that sort of built that kind of -- it wasn't panic because people were saying stay calm but people were getting more and more anxious and that's when we started to get the emergency doors and windows open. >> reporter: anxiety is the watch word here. again, at this hospital where family members are waiting for word on those 12 passengers brought here ten are seriously injured at this facility considered the number one trauma center in this region. hope to find and learn more about the exact condition of those passengers but at some point when the sun comes up. betty, back to you. >> thank you so much for that. yet another breaking news story, a terrifying crash in

taiwan, caught on video, you have to see this dramatic darkcam footage appears to show the plane, comes over these buildings, then it clips a bridge, here's what we know right now, aviation officials in taiwan said there were 58 people onboard. so far, they have found at least 28 of them. at least 13 people are dead. according to state media, the plane was going to airport off the southeast coast of china. it was a plane similar to this one. no word yet on cause. it was nine months old and had just completed a check last week. in boston, they are begging for a break there. the city is still coping with so much snow. how much? well crews have removed 6,000 truckloads so far from the last

jordanian pilot by isis militants. jordanians say they have executed two militants in retaliation. authorities wanted the proof the pilot was still alive. seven people have died after a commuter train slammed into an suv just outside of new york city. witnesses say the railroad crossing gates came down on top of the suv, new york governor called the scene a truly ugly and brutal site. in taiwan darkcam video appears to show a plane crash, officials say at least 13 people are dead and several others injured after the plane crashed into a river, shortly after takeoff, the plane clipped a bridge and crashed into the shallow water, 58 people onboard the plane at the time. this morning in newspapers lance armstrong cited in a hit
