"first look" is up next. good friday morning everybody. right now on first look the man hunt for the ferguson shooter heats up as the attorney general lets loose on the gunman. >> this was a punk who was trying to sell discord an an area that is trying to get its act together. in. >> a massive cyclone is posing a deadly dilemma plus death defying testimony and video revealed in the boston marathon trial. in a caught on tape moment as a woman is thrust through a plate glass window and president obama faces the critics with mean tweets on this friday the 13th.

a policeman hunt heats up. they are searching for the shooter who struck two police officering during a protest early thursday morning. no arrests have been made but both officers have been released from the hospital. last night crowds gathered outside the ferguson police department. community members called the community members to bring an end to all senseless violence. what is the latest with the man hunt. >> reporter: all is quiet in ferguson this morning. in the heavy rain moved in around midnight and ended the latest protest. police say they've interviewed several people and collected tom evidence but at this point no arrests in the shootings of the two police officers. as they've done many times since the death of michael brown in august people took to the streets of ferguson missouri but this was not a protest. instead, a prayer vigil.

>> we're going to continue to heal and educate our community at large and have those tough conversations. >> reporter: the group prayed for the two police officers who were shot. in one officer shot in the face, the other in the shoulder. both men have been released from the hospital. in. >> we're lucky by god's grace we didn't lose two officers. >> the police chief resigned in the wake of a justice department investigation that revealed widespread racial bias. the missouri state police and st. louis county police are taken over security during future demonstrations as they did following the michael brown shooting. after the prayer vijl a few dozen protesters returned to the area. they dispursed as heavy rain moved into the area. it's expected to last into

saturday. everyone here still uneasy knowing a gunman who's not afraid to shoot into a crowd is still out there. and leaders here in ferguson have announced rewards totaling at least $13,000 for information leading to an arrest of the person who shot the two police officers. >> president obama talked about ferguson last night with jimmy kimmel. he compared the events in ferguson to the selma civil rights march. >> that was beautiful about selma was reminding ourselves that real social change in this country so often has happened because ordinary people are willing in a nonviolent fashion to make their voices heard, and i think that what had been happening in ferguson was oppress i and objectionable and was worthy of protest, but there was no excuse for criminal acts. >> the president did, however,

terrified pleas of a carjacking victim who as you can see escaped after he had just been taken oh a ride threatened and robbed at gunpoint by two men he later identified as the tsarnaev brothers. >> they take it. >> reporter: the carjacking victim testified he pulled his car over to respond to a text message and about 10:30 p.m. when this green honda civic pulled up he hind him and got out and knocked on his window. he said he rolled it down thinking he wanted directions but he testified suddenly he put his hands through my window unlocked the car and jumped in quickly and closed the door. he said tamerlan asked him do you know the boston marathon explosion million do you know who did it? i did it an i just killed a policeman.

interesting is that in recent months we've noticed a remarkably different tone coming from former new york city mayor rudy giuliani on these issues and this is not the first time that he's made comments that have gotten a lot of attention. i think that a lot of folks originally remember him as the strong patriot who defended america after the 9/11 terror attack. he is increasingly grabbing headlines for his tone on the issue of the debate that we're having in our country about police and law enforcement. >> we ins he's also taking on the doj report claiming there was little evidence to prove racism within the ferguson police department. in. >> there's two points i would make about the report. the first is that darin wilson there are no civil rights charges going to be filed against him. that being said the ferguson city counsel just earlier this week voted to unanimously get
