going to run for president. what does he get out of being the very first person to throw his name in. >> he doesn't do cautious. he wants to be the first one saying i'm all in. he's skipping the exploratory committee phase. he's always the first term senator. he's been capitalizing on being the young guy with really strong politics to a very conservative audience. i think he's also worried about pulling voters that scott walker is getting. ted cruz wants the heat. he's not afraid of being at the center of attention for a long time. that's how he ran his 2012 campaign. in the center and strong politics. >> he likes to be in the center of controversy it seems. we have governor from california saying he finds cruise to be unfit to be president.

do you think that cruz takes pride in that comment? >> yeah. a california saying no? that's just feeding into the kind of environment that ted cruz is looking for. he would like to be hard-line very to the right. his voters. people like jeb bush are going to soften on certain issues. i am going to struggle to see an independent voter go for ted cruz. >> when you talk about his voters, why is not making this in his own state. >> i think he wants to get out and be a a little bit more in virginia. it's an important state for republicans and i think speaking to evangelicals. he actually bumped someone else to speak because he only decided to do this two days ago but he's hoping to tell conservatives, values voters i'm in it for you. i want to get the far right
