ahead on first look. i hope you had a great weekend. thanks for waking up with us. it is being called a journalistic failure. rolling stone magazine is apologizing and has officially retracted an article about an alleged gang rain at the university of virginia. the original article focussed on a student called jackie. after sparking national outrage the magazine acknowledged there were discrepancies. now the school of journalism has released an independent review of the article. it says a rain on campus is a story of journalistic failure that was avoidable. the failure encompassed editing, and fact checking. the review found that the author didn't try to contact the three friends who later denied information attributed to them. rolling stone never identified the alleged attackers, and

rolling stone never gave the fraternity the chance to respond to the accusation. the author of the original article is apologizing to readers saying i allowed my concern for jackie's well being, my fear of retraumatizing her and my confidence in her credibility to take the place of more questions and more facts. the lawyer for jackie has not commented. this morning a multiple shooting being investigated inside a gnome. five people were shot. the victims are two women and three children. they're all related. the children's ages are six, four, and an infant. they're all in serious condition. no motive. police believe the shooting was not random. they are searching for three possible suspects in the case. leaders across the country and the world are voicing their opinions on the iran nuclear deal. in an interview president obama sat down with thomas freed dom

lloyd was dating the sister of his fiance. they say he was angry with lloyd after a dispute. lloyd's body was found a mile from his home. prosecutors say this video shows hernandez with what they believe is the murder weapon but the weapon was never found. kevin baa lard got 18 years behind bars for posting nude photos on his site. to get them removed, victims had to pay him up to $350. one of the unidentified alleged victims spoke out after the sentencing. >> it was amazing. because i blamed myself the whole entire time for that and i'm so thankful because i'm going to get my life back and get back to the way things were. in queens look at this. cops are trying to figure out

what caused a fight to break out at a casino on friday. a reported dispute about a place in line is what triggered this. three people were arrested. several others were hurt including a cop. hbo john oliver tracks down snowden for a not so friendly interview. first "the washington post" reports civil rights leader gardener c tailor has died. he was known as the dean of american preaching. he served for 42 years as the pastor of his church in brooklyn. he was 96 years old.

where he is. let's talk about this. you have the president. you have congress. you have netanyahu. you have iran obviously. who's winning in this iran nuclear deal pr campaign if you will? >> i thought the president's interview this weekend was compelling. he was tight lipped during the negotiations and now he's trying to sell this to the world. he made some good points in the interview and i think it's important for him to be out in front of this and selling it. i think there's a lot of doubts here and he goes a long way to say i understand everyone has doubts but this is what he thinks is really everybody's best shot. >> you're talking about the interview with the new york times and in that freedman says israel has become a republican cause and not a bipartisan cause. it's an interesting point. >> i think with the address of netanyahu to congress that sort of hit a peak of a partisan issues. democrats felt like it was

slighting the white house for him to be there at the invitation of congress and not alerting the white house. no one wants this to be a partisan issue. democrats want to be on israel's side. no one really wants this to be a partisan issue. i think it's going to be the deescalation of bipartisanship on this. >> everyone is saying i want to look at the details before i jump to any conclusions. we also saw on easter sunday the pope come out and really praise the framework of this deal with iran. outside of israel is this deal gaining some momentum on a global scale? >> i think after 40 years of not having this sort of communication and these sorts of frameworks, people are ready to give it a shot. and i think that the pope that's a very valuable endorsement for the six parties that have come together for the deal and it says let's give it a
