"the new york times" reports that jeb bush identified himself as hispanic on a 2009 voter registration form. jeb bush jr. took to twitter where he wrote lol. come on dad. think you checked the wrong box with the hash tag hon nar latino. jeb bush senior responded by tweeting my mistake. don't think i fooled anyone. all right. president obama is pushing ahead with efforts to win over critics

of the nuclear agreement with iran but he is now facing opposition from one of the most powerful democrats in the senate. the president defends the deal in an interview and also criticizes israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu who says any deal must force iran to recognize the state of israel. >> the notion that we would iran not getting nuclear weapons in a verifiable deal on iran recognizing israel is really akin to saying that we won't sign a deal unless the nape of the iranian regime completely transforms, and that is i think a fundamental misjudgment. i want to return to this point. we want iran not to have nuclear weapons precisely because we can't bank on the nature of the regime changing. that's exactly why we don't want to have nuclear weapons.

if suddenly iran transformed itself into germany or sweden or france there would be a different set of conversations about their nuclear infrastructure. >> but the man slated to replace senator harry reid as minority leader is going against the white house. chuck schumer says he supports legislation which would require that congress approve any nuclear deal with iran and these are a list of changes israel is now seeking in any nuclear agreement. they include a complete stop to nuclear research and development and the closure of an underground facility as an enrichment site. a nuclear fizzist insists the proposed deal could prevent iran from attaining a nuclear weapon. >> this is not an agreement for ten years or 15 years or 20 years. it is a long term agreement with

a set of fazes. >> this is not built upon trust. >> this is built upon hard nosed requirements in terms of limitations on what they do at various time scales and on the access and transparency. >> let's go to the university of virginia where a fraternity is preparing legal action against rolling stone after the magazine retracted an article about an alleged gang rain. a story which prompted a blistering critique from the columbia journalism school. we are on campus with the details. >> reporter: good morning. this story rocked this campus and sparked a national conversation about sexual assault. this morning uva's campus is hoping to move forward. the fraternity at the center of the rolling stone article is planning to pursue legal action saying it accused them of crimes its members did not commit.

>> this report is very much intended as a piece of journalism act a failure of journalism. >> reporter: the columbia university journalism school discussed its scathing review of the article blaming not just is reporter but the top editors. >> this failure was not the subjects or the source's fault as a merit of journalism. in a message from the editor they. >> reporter: everyone involved will keep their jobs. in the piece published last fall a woman identified only as jackie claimed to have been sexually assaulted by seven men at the fraternity house. >> if this reporter had contacted you, could all this have been avoided. >> yeah. >> rolling stone did not fact check the stories with friends including these two mentioned in the article. >> i was wondering why there was

a quote attributed to me i'd never given. >> reporter: they also failed to give the fraternity a chance to defend themselves. >> at this time it's clear if anything did happen it's different from the article. >> there is no substantive basis to conclude what is described in the article happened that night. >> nbc news spoke with a reporter when the story was published. >> it's been difficult for her to go forward. >> reporter: now she's apologizing. i allowed my concern for jackie's well being and my confidence in her credibility to take the place of more questioning and more facts. some are worried this failure could have a chilling effect. >> i have concerns that survivors might not come forward. >> reporter: others see this as a bad case of journalism. >> i think other people who have stories they can tell carefully and in a way that reporters can

confirm should be assured that the profession will hopefully learn the lesson here and to do well by them. >> reporter: calling the rolling stone article irresponsible, the president of the college said it did nothing to combat sexual violence. an attorney for jackie has declined to comment. >> thanks so much. let's turn to business. wall street brushed off a discouraging march jobs report with gains across the board monday but will the rally be short-lived. the price of oil is urging after the framework of the iran nuclear deal was put in place last week. we are live from london. what impact could this have on u.s. markets and markets around the world? >> good to speak to you. this is about the market liking the bad data. this is a strange situation but it's all too common. it means we might not have the

first rate hike in june. that's what the market was sieging a relief over. it was pleased on the oil price. it has fallen aggressively on the back of an iran nuclear deal. bad news is good. the dollar is falling as well. oil under pressure in the current pressure. a lot of oversupply concerns. saudi putting prices up. that has been seen as a slight positive. apple under pressure. apple pay, a lot of the users having a few issues at the moment. now they could well have a new rival. it's microsoft according to a consultant, they've applied for state money transfer licenses idaho is the first state to issue a license. that means that apple will have a lot more rivals. they've already got google wallet. intense competition. >> an interesting story, star

bucks is now offering a college education to all its employees. what can you tell us about that? that seems pretty wild. >> this is really good news. we talked about the jobs report from last week. it was only 120,000 on jobs created. companies are finding it tighter to hold and keep good employees. we've seen pay rises. now star bucks looks like it's going to pay full tuition for workers to get a degree from arizona state online. this is trying to attract the best workers. so far 2,000 employees have enrolled in the program. they want to rev this up by opening it up. they want to get 25,000 college graduates by 2025. probably tough on their margins. >> let's hope it's a trend that education comes in handy. thank you so much. appreciate it. still ahead a great night for
