mayweather are slapped with lawsuits. manny pacquiao is hit with a suit for failing to disclose his shoulder injury before the bout. and if you had a ticket it was filed on your behalf. basically, the plaintiffs saying viewers didn't get what they paid for. the injury apparently happened during training. but pac-man says it didn't start bothering him until this fourth round. and floyd mayweather has his own legal fight now, too, with his ex-girlfriend. the mother of his three children. it's for $20 million. according to court documents obtained by e! online he lied about her and defamed her in an interview when he said quote, did i restrain a woman that was on drugs? yes, i did. even with all that, mayweather told espn he would be willing to fight manny pacquiao again after recovery. drones are becoming

increasingly popular in everyday life. and today, the head of the federal aviation administration is expected to unveil two initiatives. the united states could see 1 million unmanned flights a day in the next 20 years. the government is encourage innovation while safeguarding the skies. tracie potts is live in washington. tracie good morning. >> reporter: two separate initiatives. that's coming out of what is a drone conference in atlanta, from the faa administrator. you might recall back in february, they put out proposed rules for dealing with drones under 55 pounds. well, those rules have drawn in more than 4,500 comments from members of the public. from hobbyists who want to fly their drones. from businesses. there is a big push by business to get these rules in place. restaurants and delivery services. and others. surveyors and realtors and journalists like us who wants to use the drones throughout the

united states. the faa has seven requests so far to certify drone use. they are concern about safety. remember the drone we saw crash on the white house lawn. the proposed rules say that the operator has to keep the drones in line of sight. they are also concerned, not only about the market but also able possibly interfering with aircraft. that's why the proposal would keep them five miles away from airports. we'll see what the faa administrator has to say about the two initiatives they're going to roll out in atlanta. >> tracie potts, thank for that report. a new twist in the freddie gray death investigation. wbal is reporting that a baltimore officer charged believed the arrest is legal. that officer is edward nero. he says the knife that gray had on him was barred under city law. prosecutors claim it wasn't. nero wants the state attorney's office to produce the knife.

tuesday, new attorney general loretta lynch met with grey's family, the city mayor and police. here's what she told officers. >> i know there are difficulties. i know we have struggles. we're here to help you work through those struggles. but to all of you on the front lines, i want to say thank you. >> and this sunday in baltimore, which also happens to be mother's day, pop icon prince, will perform a concert a portion of the proceeds will benefit baltimore charities. prince is asking attendees to wear the color gray. near boston a park scare caught on camera. a massive degree falling on a group of children. two boys ages 8 and 2 were sent to the hospital. the youngest suffering a fractured skull. the other, scratches and three stitches to his head. >> a tree fell on us. >> everybody was shaking and screaming. the kids were crying. >> no word on why the 35-foot

tree fell. as a precaution, the park was closed until an inspection of the other trees is completed. in michigan the fists fly between a school bus driver and an alleged unruly teen. >> get your butt out of here. >> are you going to slap me? >> i will. >> you're going to slap me? >> outside the bus, the situation escalates. the 53-year-old and 15-year-old trade punches. students step in to break it up. after a few minutes, the driver gets on the bus. the driver has been suspended. but she and the teen are facing several charges. a quick-thinking mom, figuring out an ingenious way to get help when she and her mom were held hostage in their home. peter bernard has the details. >> we had never seen that before. >> reporter: during the monday afternoon shift, at the avon park pizza hut -- >> the order comes through.

and she had edited her ticket. on the bottom it said hostage, help. and on the top, it said get 911 help. >> reporter: using the cell phone app, they ordered a pizza, with two secret messages added. >> did you think someone was playing a prank on you? >> no. i've been here 28 years. and i've never seen anything like that come through. >> reporter: they called 911. the deputies went to the pizza place and the address on the order. they say ethan nickerson held his girlfriend and three children hostage inside the home for most of the day, while sharpening a large hunting knife. >> if i'm standing with a knife in my hand and sharpening it, and make looking at you that i'm going to kill you, and i've done violence to you, how are you going to take the message? >> when deputies arrived, the girlfriend ran to them with a baby in her arms. >> it's worse when it's i'm not

doesn't it? the top of it is the wall cloud rotating in the base of the thunderstorm. in the center of the wall cloud is the funnel cloud, dropping down. you can see a little bit of debris on the bottom of the screen. so, that makes it a tornado. as soon as that funnel starts to whirl and whip the winds around on the surface. it is classified as a tornado. this is areas of texas, in open fields. no damage reported with that storm at all. that's the way we like it. let's talk about the interesting thing happening possibly off the southeast coast. we could look at our first named tropical system making landfall in the carolinas in three days. that gets your attention. it's going to be weak. and the effects will be minor. that's the good of it the right now, the system is disorganized. it is north of the bahamas, making for a raw day. the rip current is going to be high no matter what. and we'll deal with beach erosion also. as we go throughout the next five days the system is going to linger here, just off the southeast coast. right along the carolina

coastline, from friday through mother's day. including the indiana banks as late as monday. the storm's in no hurry at all. it's very weak. the rainfall predictions are low, too. i don't expect a lot of problems out of the system. even if it does become anna. as far as severe weather, we had some yesterday. heavy rains in oklahoma. as we go through this afternoon, a chance of additional tornadoes. most likely if they occur, it will be oklahoma into central kansas. large hail too. oklahoma city, included. about 3 million people at slight risk today. i do not expect an outbreak though. that's good. may is famous for outbreaks. so far, knock on wood not yet. >> let's hope it stays calm. officials are going all-out to head off a major threat in california. catastrophic drought. they have emergency drought rules for cities and agencies to save water. cutting usage. the u.s. water service says drought has killed 12.5 million

with yesterday being cinco de mayo the president and several lawmakers took the opportunity to talk about immigration reform. at the white house, mr. obama told leaders and activists that congress needs to do more to make changes. hillary clinton laid out her immigration goals with students at a las vegas high school. >> i will fight for comprehensive immigration reform and a path to citizenship for you and for your families across our country. >> during her travels, clinton took a moment to pose with a photo with a new jetblue employs. and daniel donovan has won an election to replace michael grimm. he was the prosecutor in the eric garner choke hold case. he is replacing grimm. pope francis and raul castro to meet at the vatican. the meet willing be private. the pope is planning a trip to

be with her come the general election in 2016. she's doing this with constituency after constituency. her call for body cameras in police departments is aimed at the african-american community. here, you have her saying she would go further on executive action than president obama has. aimed at ramping that up. is there a risk? a little bit. but the bigger risk is to not have a motivated democratic base for her. >> you mention she's being bold. is this something she's going to have to distance herself from president obama on in taking reform a step further? >> i mean i think what she's doing is distancing herself from him by going further. she's distancing herself in the other direction, in the direction of the democratic base and away from the middle. i don't think after saying that it's going to be easy for her to bring it back. this was well-thought out, calculated. >> cnbc's survey said they found they favor hillary clinton over

in this morning's "miami herald," a couple found guilty of having sex on a florida beach. witnesses were testifying that a 3-year-old girl saw them. the two face up to 15 years in prison and have to register as sex offenders. frank ferb freshwater tracked down after 56 years. he's been living in florida. he escaped from an ohio prison where he had been doing time for probation violation related to a manslaughter conviction. and talk about a smashing good time. u.k. residents had off for a national holiday on monday. and some decided to celebrate by holding a car-jumping competition. one mechanic jumped his car with a camper behind him.

welcome to "way too early." i'm luke russert in washington, d.c. we begin this morning with the race for the white house. and the sixth republican to make it official. >> i announce that i am a candidate for president of the united states of america. >> former arkansas governor mike huckabee launching his second presidential campaign, with a speech in his hometown of hope arkansas yesterday, touting his working class routes and populous message throughout. >> i walked away from my own income to do this. i'm not asking you for some sacrifice i'm not willing to make. i don't have a global foundation. or a taxpayer-funded paycheck to live off of. i don't come from a dynasty but a working family. i grew up blue collar not blue blood. i was 8 years old.
