and one more at a nearby hospital. no police officers or bystanders were injured. the fight apparently broke out in the bathroom before spilling out into the bar and finally into the parking lot where the shooting began. waco police learned beforehand at least five rival gangs and 200 members from across texas were gathering at the restaurant. they had officers nearby in case of violence. >> our officers were here within seconds. when they approached the scene, there were multiple people on the scene firing weapons at each other. they then turned on our officers. our officers returned gunfire, wounding and possibly killing several. i don't know at this point. it'll be a while before we're able to determine that. i will tell you that in 34 years of law enforcement this is the worst crime scene, the most violent crime scene that i have ever been involved in. >> the sergeant went onto say that at least 100 individuals

have been detained so far in the investigation. he also placed blame on the management of the incident say saying individuals at twin peaks knew this was occurring and allowed that to continue which brought us to where we are today. let's turn to amtrak. six days after the accident, full service is being restored. trains are resuming today between new york and philadelphia after crews finished making repairs. the fbi is now investigating whether a flying object may have hit the train moments before it crashed. tom costello has more on the latest of the investigation. >> the damaged train cars sit in a delaware yard while repair crews finish the job of rebuilding the track. investigators are tofocusing on a chain of e venltds that caused the accident. >> we're looking at three main do mains.

we're looking at the human, machine and the environment. all three of those things are still on the table, the human is brandon bostian who told investigators he doesn't remember what happened right before it crashed. the question is whether projectiles hit the train as well as two other trains just before the accident. the ntsb says the bostian never radioed he had been hit by anything. along this entire stretch there's no shortage of rocks and concrete and a low fence line making it easy for somebody who might want to take aim. residents say it's a common sport for kids. >> glass and big rocks, balls ice, snowballs. just anything that you can think of to throw, it's been thrown. >> reporter: it's not a new problem. story in 1905 of teddy roosevelt's train being hit on the same stretch of track. the question is did it distract bostian as he should have been slowing down and not speeding up. meanwhile a moment of reflection for the eight people who died and the 200 injured on tuesday night. >> tom costello with that report. thanks so much. going overseas. the islamic state is dealing -- isis is in complete krolg of ramadi which is 70 miles from baghdad. government forces fled following days of intense fighting. this is being called the biggest victory for isis so far this year. in syria a key leader of isis is dead and his wife is in custody after a daring raid by special operations forces.

u.s. officials say the troops traveled from northern iraq in black hawk helicopters and osprey aircraft like these on your screen. it is just the second time u.s. led special forces operations carried out a mission in isis-controlled territory in syria. they tell us gunfire was exchanged as well as hand to hand fighting. not much is known about abu sayyaf. he was personally close to the isis leader. >> one analyst we spoke to described him as like al capone's accountant. he's significant with a lot of information, but he will be replaced. i think the most significant thing here was the symbolism that u.s. special operations forces went into the isis heartland, grabbed someone, his wife killed over militants on

the ground and left successfully. it is a psychological how or an attempted one against isis. i think that's probably one of the most important missions here. >> u.s. lawmakers are praising operation. they have not yet passed an operation, an authorization of military force agreement but they're also warning the u.s. must weigh the risk. >> you can imagine what would have happened if one of our people was captured. we'd move heaven and earth to get them back. we'll see what kind of intelligence trove we got. the problem with being pulled into this civil war in syria is then you take ownership. as collin powell used to say you break it you bought it. it's badly broken and i don't know that we want to take ownership of this. i understand the frustration with how can this is taking and the setbacks in ramadi which are real and serious. at the same time, we don't want

to get sucked in in a way that we take ownership of this whole crisis. >> let's turn to politics and folks who might enhertinherit the situation in the middle east. jeb bush weighed in on saturday laying blame for the creation of the radical group at the president's feet. >> it's encouraging that one of the senior isis leaders has been killed if it's been confirmed and kudos to the special forces, the best in the world. having said that nsh this administration created the void that created this emerging caliphate that is far bigger than anything that's existed before and there's no long term strategy on how to deal with it. >> he was campaigning in iowa. dismissing rumors he won't be competing there. >> i'm here in iowa speaking about iowa to remind everybody, i'm going to, if i go beyond the consideration, i'm going to cam

right. sounds like 2012. so far only six candidates have formally entered the race. at least another six from explored bids. in a straw poll the party launched online last night lists a whopping 26 candidates although some of those listed have ruled out bids. on the democratic side hillary clinton is back in iowa this morning. financial disclosure forms showed she and her husband bill clinton earned more than $30 million since january of last year. dead broke no more. with more than $25 million coming from speaking fees. this as the former secretary of state is being criticized for only taking nine questions since the day she announced her candidacy candidacy. president obama's former top strategist had this to say. >> i think she has to get out there and answer questions and

she has to do it routinely so it's not a major news event when she takes a few questions. she has to do it quickly and start getting into the rhythm of a campaign where she's out there and she's answering questions and making speeches. and she's not -- it would be a terrible mistake to not do that. >> elsewhere on sunday morning, secretary clinton was winning praise from the other side of aisle. bob gates. >> i think she played a critical role in getting the much tougher sanctions on iran and getting particularly the russians and the chinese on board to allow these more severe sanctions to be put into place. we agreed in terms of the afghan serge. if anything she was tougher than i was on that. >> if it came down to it, could you see yourself voting for hillary clinton? >> i think it's a little earl

western conference finals. the ducks jump out to an early series lead getting four goals last night to defeat chicago. go back to the original ones. these are awful. now to golf's as well as far doe championship. rory mcilroy making history becoming the first two-time winner after posting a victory on sunday. top ranked mcilroy broke the tournament record finishing at 21 under 267. he's on fire. to major league baseball, an out fielder is beamed by a fast ball tlaen by the pitcher. he eventually got up and walked off the field. go mess left the game. he did not suffer a concussion or any other serious injury.
