president and the first lady went to the vice president's home after showing an emotional statement calling him a big hearted and deeply faithful man who made a difference in the lives of all he touched and he lives on in their hearts. tributes poured in on social media from jeb bush to hillary clinton, cher to john legend. much of the outpouring was from people they didn't know expressing their personal heart break for a family who endured so much lost. >> 1971 joe biden's first wife and killed in a car crash. >> one of my earliest memories was being in that hospital. my dad always at our side. >> a father and son with an incredible bond forged by tragedy and they would face another challenge in 2010. beau had what was bieg noticed as a stroke. in 2013 he began treatment for

behind sanders. sanders continues to draw a large crowd in his campaign as he said in minneapolis yesterday. let's go to somebody who knows the riggers of what it takes to run for president. john kerri is cutting short his trip to europe after breaking his leg in a bike accident in france. this is file tape of a similar ride in march. he was riding in france south of swiss border where the talks are taking place. a local newspaper said he fell along a mountain rout which has been part of the tour de france more than a dozen times. kerri reportedly hit a curb. the 71-year-old was hospitalized in geneva with a broken femur. he is returning home today. the fracture is near the site of his earlier hip injury. we wish him well. back at home former congressman

denny hastert's name is no longer on the public center of his all ma mater. he was indicted on payments of covering up past misconduct. he apparently paid nearly $2 million to conceal sexual oi us a abuse of a man where he once taught. he is also facing charges to avoid reporting requirements but not for the alleged misconduct. >> number one, the government doesn't claim that mr. hastert's payment of this money was illegal and he's not charged with whatever happened 30 years ago. that is not anything the federal government could bring a charge on. the other thing is the federal government says they're not chargeing individual a. with extortion for two reasons. one is you have to have a victim and mr. hastert has never claimed that he was extorted and

it's like we flipped the switch in one day. today is june 1st. before the forecast with the rain today, this is the beginning of our hurricane season. nothing out there of any interest right now. typically june is quiet. in may we had our a. named storm. here's the forecast. average is about 12 named storms. they're calling below average. the big ones the cat threes we haven't had any of those hit our country in over a decade. one of the longest stretches ever. we've been fortunate and lucky. we don't expect many this year. maybe we is can add one more year of the list. we have flash flood watches from hartford providence and down to d.c. yesterday this was flash flooding in the atlanta area. we had it around new york but these pictures in atlanta are
