all right. coming up on 19 minutes past the hour, time for your wednesday edition of "scrambled politics." today they'll officially vote on fast track power for the president. if legislation passed by the house passes it would be a big win for republicans, president and colossal trade deal. congressional leaders announced a plan to strengthen the voting rights act. it will appeal to progressives. it makes it harder to vote. chris christie could announce his presidential bid next week. he's one of the last big names in that deciding stage.

charter schools put heavy emphasis on test scores. >> we have a competition model, right? i like to say where there are winners there are also what? >> losers. >> right. who's losing? nobody wants to have that conversation. >> today 93% of the public school students attend a charter school. that's more than any other district in the nation. >> special need across the system a lot are not being accommodated. >> schools have increased graduation rates dramatically and the model is across louisiana. jindal pitches it. >> we've got equality of education opportunity in our country. one of the most important lasting legacies i believe would be the reforms we've implemented in k through 12 education specifically school choice. >> parents in new orleans say it's not that simple.

right territory. he's come out strong on social issues, came out during the battle in indiana and arkansas on religious freedom laws. he came out on champion stronger than those laws. i was told this was the strongest ever. he's gone out on radical islam and said european no-go zones saying essentially sharia law is used to govern in parts of europe something everyone in europe says doesn't actually exist. he's decried those. he's taken far right territory. he's hoping education reforms get him on the main stage. >> we'll see what happens. sounds like chris christie is jumping in the race maybe as early as next week. can voters get past his past? >> i think it's going to be great to see how that plays out. he's fun to watch, very engaging but also can turn people off
