there's a heightened security as we head to the holiday weekend. authorities emphasize that this is only a precaution and say there's no specific terror threat. brian moore is live in washington. what kind of security preparations are underway in the nation's capital? >> hey betty. in the nation's capital, like the rest of the country, there's the visibility authority. authorities say there's no credible harm but reason to be on alert. this turned out to be a false alarm. it was what cops hope don't happen this holiday weekend.

>> stay vigilant to areas you are in. >> with isis and other terror groups calling for attacks and after high profile string of arrests, departments are on alert. >> we try to be very visible. >> from san diego to wichita, kansas and new york city. they're asking for individual lens from the community too. at the same time they say fear shouldn't outweigh fun on the fourth. >> police say wherever you are, if you see something out of the ordinary, go ahead and report it. >> never be too cautious. thank you. a russian cargo ship is headed for the international space station. the ship launch add just a few hours ago. it's delivering food water, oxygen other items. this comes days after the unmanned space rocket exploded.

his policy proposal to fix the immigration situation in our country is to build a wall. i think that even former florida governor jeb bush kind of shrugged off that idea as well as new jersey governor chris christie. he's got corporate sponsors pulling out. i think also he's gotten some criticism from republican presidential contenders as well. >> quickly, the trump controversy is making it hard for all republican candidates to secure the latino vote? >> i don't think it does. >> really? >> here's why. i think it makes the opponents become more serious. i think that it really shows the contrast between people like donald trump and more moderate more folks who are willing to compromise, people like former florida governor jeb bush who by the way has been i criticized about his own immigration stances. >> appreciate your insight on this friday morning. the holiday weekend is upon us.
