history. 657 bb a number on the plane fragment found on the small island in the indian ocean is confirmed to have come from a boeing 77. >> the eyes of the aviation world are focused on this degree which investigators are now convinced is the flap of an aircraft wing. which aircraft they're not sure. the number proves it's from a boeing 777. only one is missing, malaysia 370. they're examining the piece drag ed from the waves. >> there's a possibility part of the aircraft may have been found. >> investigators are also looking at what this man found. the remains of a suitcase nearby on the beach at the same time.

island. >> we want to go to bill neely on the phone from the island. we understand they're recovering for items, everyone in the past few hours. can you tell us about it? >> caller: good morning. i spent the last few hours on the beach where the piece of aircraft was found. they've been finding more this morning. whether or not they are significant we don't know. they've handed them over to police. the man who found the aircraft part and the suitcase called johnny this morning found two bottles. one, a chinese water bottle with chinese characters on it and another from indonesia. he said that's significant but no such products are sold on this item. they must have come across the indian ocean. most passengers on board mh370 were from china. another local shopkeeper found two foot and a half long pieces of plastic that look like they had come from some kind of craft that could be a boat or machine.

he handed those over to police as well. there are many many people scouring the beach. we followed police this morning. half a dozen or ten of those on the beach looking for objects. a helicopter was overhead doing the same thing. local people and police are doing everything they can to try to solve this mystery. that piece of aircraft is still on the island. later tonight, it will be flown out of here and over to france where a specialist laboratory it will be examined by experts. everyone here hoping that first piece of wreckage could and should and will be followed by more. >> do we have any idea how long it will take to actually identify that piece? >> caller: no we don't. i mean aviation experts that looked at photograph and executives from boeing privately said they were pretty convinced,
