that includes vice president joe biden, who takes 17% of the vote. clinton's lead grows to 15 points without the vice president in the race but that's down from clinton's 34-point lead over sanders in july and a 60-point lead as recently as june. donald trump has led in every national republican poll taken in the last 78 days but now he is facing his slimmest lead yet, the new nbc news/"wall street journal" poll shows trump leading dr. ben carson by just one point, 21% to 20%, a ten-point increase for carson since july. senator marco rubio and carly fiorina seeing significant gains, tied for third at 11 points each and jeb bush comes in fifth, dropping seven points since july when he was in third place. this as donors tell "the washington post" that bush is entering a critical phase of his bid as fund-raisers say he faces defections unless he rebounds in the polls. yesterday bush dismissed any

nervousness. >> look, it is a marathon and we just started advertising. i'm confident we get good response, we got a great ground game in these early states. i'm confident i can win new hampshire for sure. i'm running the heart campaign running with heart and we're making great progress. the polls really don't matter they don't filter out the people that aren't going to vote. it's just i know it's an obsession because it frames the debate for people for that week but i'm in it for the long haul. >> donald trump will unveil his tax plan today in a press conference at trump tower. but first he offered a preview of his proposal in an interview last night on "60 minutes." >> who are you going to raise taxes on? >> if you look at actual raise, some very wealthy are going to be raised, some people that are getting unfair deductions are going to be raised but oversaul a tremendous imis enive to grow the economy and we're going to take in the same or more money and i think we're going to have something that's going to be spectacular. >> republicans don't raise taxes.

clashed with chuck todd on "meet the press." she stood by her description of a scene in one of the videos claiming to expose planned parenthood and also refused to say directly if she thinks republicans in congress should force a government shutdown to defund the organization. her description in the last gop debate of a scene she saw in the on tie planned parent hood video has been widely disputed. >> no evidence the scene you described exists. are you willing to concede that you exaggerated that scene? >> no. not at all. that scene absolutely does exist, and that voice saying what i said they were saying we'ring if to keep it alive exists as well. here's the thing. yesterday i was -- >> you saw that moment on the tape? >> yes, and i would challenge planned parenthood here is the deal, yesterday i was protested by planned parenthood people throwing condoms at me. i don't know what that has to do

with this. they're trying to distract the american people from the hideous reality that planned parenthood is aborting fetuses alive to harvest their brains and other body parts. that is a fact. i believe if the president of the united states and democrats are willing to stand up and defend for what is roughly a $500 million to $ 00 million line item in a budget, if they are willing to stand up and defend this practice and shut down the government over it then let them explain it to the american people. >> so you want this showdown. you think republican leaders in congress should force this shutdown. >> there are a variety of ways to deal with this but i believe this is something we must stand up and fight for. >> now to house speaker john boehner's stunning announcement friday he's resigning the speakership and from congress at the end of october. in his first interview since that announcement boehner is

bill stargazers from around the world were treated to a rare event last night when the supermoon combined with a lunar eclipse. the twin occurrence is called the blood moon. this is the moon last night at its closest point to the earth appearing 14% larger than the average full moon. this event by itself isn't that rare but then around 9:00 last night that supermoon began lining up with the sun for a lunar eclipse casting a shadow over the moon and around 11:00 the supermoon reached total eclipse and you can see the reddish hue which is why it's called the blood moon. the last supermoon lunar eclipse was in 1982. i think i saw it. did you see it? >> yes, we were in the backyard with our lawn chairs a good time. >> it was fun. >> mark your calendar -- >> pabst blue ribbon? >> no narragansett. >> over here people mark your calendar for 2033. still ahead that's the next time the supermoon is coming
