accessibility of guns. the last thing that americans should have to do over the holidays or any day is to comfort the families of people killed by gun violence, and people who woke up in the morning and bid their loved ones good-bye with no idea it was the last time, and yet two days after thanksgiving that is what we are forced to do again. this is not normal, and we can't let it become normal. leeann greg is there in colorado, and what more can you tell us? >> alex, the investigation is under way, and we are told that the processing of the crime scene could take several days. we also noted that the items that the gunman left behind have been processed. there is kesh that he left behind explosive devices, and that part of the investigation is over, and now they are searching for the motive to find out what caused him to go inside of the planned parenthood to start shooting. three people were killed, and

>> well, i don't know about that or if they are trying to provide some calm among the populous, and if they believe they have a better handle on the emerging threats there in belgium. the belgium authorities and the french have been working non-stop around the clock for two full weeks, which has caused quite a panic the nation. they want to at some point assure the citizens they have some sense of what is occurring, and that that they can be put at ease, and life should go back to normal. so moving that back, it may be additional intelligence that they have collected that they have disrupt ed something with all of the efforts that i have launched over to the last couple of weeks, but they want people to understand that life is ing to the the go on, alex. >> thank you, shawn henry. >> any minute, donald trump is expected to take the stage the at sarasota, florida. he is expected to the take on the new york times' article that he mocked a disabled person e

earlier in the week. joining us are our political contributors. susan, i want to go to this, is this the last straw of some of the gop supporters of donald trump? >> no, i won't b. we keep saying that everything is the final straw, but it is going to build into the narrative that donald trump has a troubling relationship with the truth, and he is not going to gain support by this, and he has locked in and hit the ceiling, but it is another example where he just doubles down. if you push him as hard as you can as a member of the press, those 25% are still going to be with him. but it is turning into a bad narrative for him, because he is now starting to look like he is willing to say anything, and he does not care if it is true or not, and just to get your support. >> but i wanted to ask you, is he bad for all republicans in general? >> it is problematic, because right now, you republicans who
9:47 am
are not taking him head-on, because they are afraid of what he'll do back. he is a very good punch-counter puncher, and so they are not taking him on and debunking him, and we are not seeing it from the press either so right now it is hurting the republican brand >> and now ahead to monday with you, zerlina, because monday, he is going to to be meeting with a group of black clergy, and we have heard that he said it is support, and we with have heard from some to supporters who say, no, we are just going to meet him, and no intention to support him, but we want to the hear him. is this important for trump to have this meeting first of all? it is important for both sides of the aisle to meet with every demographic group. you are running for president, and trying to get the votes. the the republican party has had trouble historically with the black voters, and so it is important for him to go to meet with the black pastors, and it
9:48 am
does not mean they will endorse him. and the narrative got the out of control here where he was meeting with 15 black pastors and then it became 100 black pastors, and just meeting versus they are endorsing him. so susan is right. he has a little bit of the trouble with the truth. and what we are seeing here is full of insults, and free of substance. i really, really hope that we can start to listen to some of the lack of substance that is making up his campaign, because i think that is what troubles me the most. it is not the insults of him making fun of a reporter and then denying it, but it is that he is not saying anything. >> and what he does say -- >> yes. >> and just insults. >> and now, i have wanted you to weigh in on the specific policies that he is putting out there, and what if these are flagrant lies. isn't that disturbinging? h. >> well, -- well, he is an entertainer, and when i do my show i exaggerate.
9:49 am
>> that is okay as an entertainer. >> but as a politician, he is getting away with it, but i think that he thinks that he is right. donald trump lives in his own bubble, and there is no doubt about it, and come monday, he is going to be saying, i got endorsements from thousands of pastors at my rally, and when you show him how many people didn't endorse him, he will say, oh, they are just stupid and people will just move on. >> when he said this he would win the latino vote, and all of the polling showing that it is not true. and he said, no, they love him. and you are like, what? he lives in the own, like e shoo said bubble. >> it is to the greater narrative, because if he is stuck at 25%, and the republican nominees start dropping out, and we start to get maybe two or three, and pretty soon you could see somebody else jump to 33%, and donald trump is not moving. we saw it in the last quinnipiac poll when ben carson's numbers dropped and there was hardly a

move for donald trump. so it is not just the outsider, but that support is going to other folks. >> and that brings up the question, who are the democrats most afraid of running against? >> that is a hard question, because they love the that donald trump is taking up all of the oxygen, but the problem with that narrative is that while he is getting all of the attention, it allows someone like a ted cruz or the marco rubio to be looking like the serious nern the room, and the democrats have problems with the policies that marco rubio supports. personally making a rape survivor having to the have the baby is actually a position that marco rubio has supported on the the debate stage. so certainly democrats don't like any of the candidates, but the assumption of trump taking up all of the oxygen is good because it allows jeb or ted cruz to look serious. and now, the missing

with us. and i know that sarah, he was late there getting, and are the there are cheering fans, but what was the holdup? >> well, we with waiting for the helicopter to land, and it circled around the arena a couple of times before finally touching down. trump spoke to the crowd there, and he is offering the charn ride on the helicopter, and then he came in to address the crowd. he has touched on a number of top picks including attacks on the fellow competitors, and he has touched on the attacks in paris saying if there had been more people with guns a couple of good guys with guns, he said, in that theater that the outcome would have been much different, and right now, he is focusing on the latest controversial remarks of mimicking a times' reporter that suffers from the chronic condition that limits the movement, and trump is saying

that he has never met that man despite the as sertations that trump had met with him one-on-one, and so trump is calling new york times a failing newspaper and he plans to, and he thinks that it is going to be purchase ed purchased in a few years. he said at one point that he plans that he is considering to purchase the newspaper himself. so it is a typical trump rally, and touching on the multiple subject subjects. he he has a crowd here very supportive and some of whom began lining up hours before he was set to take the stage. there is also one disruption, and one protester was removed from the crowd by security. trump urged her to be removed, but not the harm her. and this is when a person was punched and kicked in the crowd after that protesters starting chanting "black lives matter."

10:21 am
about the protester that interru interrupted the rally, and from the start, i think that we have tape of that and let's play it now. >> you see how diplomatic i have become, right? because at the last rally we had 15,000 people, and one person, one person who was really, really being bad. it was horrible. horrible. and we said, get them out, get them out. and they were a little bit rough and i got criticized so today, you are my witness, have been nicer than that? >> well, i guess we missed the part where the protester was taken out, but he is referring to what happened today. let's just ask you this, how long are the republican voters going to be putting up with this? does he have to eventually soften the tone to hold on to the lead? >> well, thus far his lead has only grown as the tone has gotten harsher. we saw the poll numbers peak at 43%, i believe earlier in the
10:22 am
wake of the paris shootings and they are all over the map, but this tone has not hurt him much. >> and betsy, there is one that is quinnipiac that the shows that he has dropped 12 points overall. >> and that poll has a fairly small sample size and outlier of most of the poll, and so it is not guaranteed where he is going to be ending up, but thus far in the election, every time he says something crazy or fact-free all of the way back to saying john mccain is not a war hero, and the numbers have gone up. and it is like opposite day or something. >> that is a good way to put it. and now, look ging ahead to mony when he is meeting a group of black pastors for what the campaign says is an endorsement, and the pastors individuals when they are polled are saying no, and one who says yes, but how important is that meeting going to be if he gets their backing? >> well, getting their backing would certainly be incredibly valuable for him, and republicans have is nef done well with the african-american vo
10:23 am
voters at least not this century. if trump was able to the change that trendline that would be incredibly helpful, but since he preempted the meeting saying they are backing him, does not boast well. and we have a story at the daily beast where one of my colleagues went through to speak with a whole bunch of the pastors and the postings and the public statements and they are frustrated that the fact that trump said that they are e meeting with him, they ren dorsing him. if he got the endorsement, a big deal, but based on our reporting, it is a very big if. >> that is the article i am referencing when individuals said, no not yet. betsy, i want to ask about ben carson who has fallen off recently in the numbers and the polls, and any climbing back into it for dr. carson? he is in jordan today, and checking in on the syrian refugees. is that going to help? >> well, i the think that yes, when he came out and sounded tone deaf to the syrian refugees
10:24 am
it might have alienated his supporters, because people who like him, like carson differently than the people who like trump. and when trump was rough edged and scrappy and tough, his supporters seemed to be a little bit turned off. so the fact that he is meeting with the refugees and connecting with vulnerable women and children and bringing the beanie babies and the soccer balls, that is the way to the remind the reporters that he is the nice guy that we know him to be. >> and from the insiders, are there any guesses as to who is ultimately the gop nominee? >> i think that everyone is totally confused. nobody has any idea wa what is going on, and the actually the "weekly standard" had a curious editorial of an issue in the middle of the month that said if trump wins the nomination, which is something that more and more republican insiders are saying given the poll numbers maybe ben car soond jim webb can run as
10:25 am
independent, and that will help. but if you are a are republican insider, there is no empirical data or poll or number or fact suggesting that trump is losing ground beside as few polls like quinnipiac that are outliers and at this point, they don't have much hope that trump could lose. it is conceivable, and big dollar efforts by the republican consultant liz meyer saying that there are more efforts going against trump to try to limit him, but the jury is out on how effective those efforts are going to be. >> i think that the only reason that we can smile about this is that we have a long time on the calendar for things to coalesce and develop. if it were six or seven months we might not be smiling. betsy woodruff, thank you so much. at the holiday box office, the second sequel in "hunger games" could win for the second straight week, but what other mov movies trying to knock it off? we will find out next. 5 years,

and now, after long reports of a nationwide travel alert for americans this week, we are joined by the administrator of the worldwide transportation system, and john, welcome to you, and as are people are heading home this holiday weekend, how concerned should they be about security? >> well, everybody needs to be concerned about security in this day and age, but it is not something that is going to be unusual this year as opposed to last year or the year before that. it is a high-peak time. there are some indicators out there as we saw with the bombing in the egyptian flight to pay a little bit more attention, and a little bit more activity on the terrorism front are from paris and so people need to be cognizant of that and be concerned about it, but the system is pretty good, and the system has been built up to address that during these peak

travel times. >> john, as you know, the tsa has issued a worldwide terror al lerl, and what does that mean in practice, and how can the u.s. ensure the safety of citizens overseas? >> well, it is a good question, because the primary threat to the aviation system for the u.s. has been for flights coming from outside of the u.s. to the u.s., and what typically they do, there is a number of measures that are taken both visible and unseen in those foreign locations. in conjunction and working with foreign governments, it could be additional screening, and it could be more screening, and it's essential close cooperation of the u.s. and particularly those countries where they have what is called the last points of departure airports in looking at that type of security. particularly around these peak travel times.

10:41 am
system should stand alone. to be successful particularly at mitigating the insider threat, you have to look at the combination of things to be successful in that area. i know that tsa is looking at that particular model now. and the other factor in mitigating an insider threat that is very important if you don't have the physical screening is the use of unpredictability, and by that, perhaps screening on the air side with inspectors running the dogs behind the air side cargo areas, a rnd around -- and the passengers, because unpredictability mitigates the threat. and so we thank you, john ha linski. and now, we are learning that colorado police could mon for the movements of the gunman inside of the planned parenthood clinic as people were hunkered down. there were three people kill and
