and so much more. "first look" starts now. good morning. i'm gigi stone woods. last night's dueling gop events with donald trump hosting a fund-raiser during the fox news debate. megyn kelly wasted no time. >> donald trump chose not to attend the debate. what message do you think that sends to the voters of iowa? >> let me say i'm a maniac and everyone on this stage is stupid, fat and ugly and ben, you're a terrible surgeon. now that we have gotten the donald trump portion out of the way. >> it's not about donald trump. he's an entertaining guy, the greatest show on earth. but this campaign is about the greatest country in the world. >> i kind of miss donald trump, he was a teddy bear to me. i kind of miss him. i wish he was here. >> trump speaking at his event three miles away. he didn't hold back. >> i didn't want to be here.

2:05 am
you don't get 30 seconds to respond to me. >> well, your question was you have disagreed -- >> sir, i know you like to argue about the rules but we'll conduct the debate. >> i would note that the last four questions have been rand, please attack ted, chris, please attack ted, jeb, please attack ted. let me say this. >> it is a debate, sir. >> no a debate is a policy issue but i will say this. gosh, if you guys ask one more mean question i may have to leave the stage. >> chris wallace holding his own. who won? looking at the candidates, at least on social media the most talked about on facebook was ted cruz. he got a whopping 41% of the conversation and of course donald trump was the most discussed on twitter. keeping with the top polls ted cruz rounded out the top three.
