swimming with a 5,000 pound malamala. good morning, i'm dara brown. nevada voters are set to caucus. it's become a three way competition between donald trump and marco rubio and ted cruz with plenty of tension. cruz came under fire after it showed marco rubio dismissed the bible that a cruz staffer was reading. >> for them to take a video and sort of transcribe words on it that are the complete opposite of what i said i think it's a disturbing pattern of deceptive campaigns and flatout just lying to voters. >> cruz's communications director rick tyler apologized saying that it was inaccurate. cruz addressed the situation monday afternoon. >> i have spent this morning investigating what happened. and this morning i asked for rick tyler's resignation. >> rubio's campaign responded by praising tyler as a good spokesman and calling for cruz's

alleviates human suffering. that does not accelerate the disparities of income and wealth. >> the vatican has not commented. the uber driver accused in saturday's deadly shooting spree in kalamazoo, michigan, has been charged with six counts of murder and than de -- has been denied bail. appearing on a live feed from jail, dalton sat quietly as the judge read the charges against him. he preferred to remain silent. if convicted dalton faces life in prison. so far, no motive than determined. he's due back in court march 3. meanwhile, mourners gather at a mass last night in memory of the six victims. michigan governor rick snyder has ordered flags in his state to fly at half-staff for six days. one day for each victim. and 14-year-old abigail kopp

who was originally pronounced dead when she suddenly squeezed her mom's hand remains in critical condition at a local hospital. a 16-year-old boy has died from injuries sustained in last week's helicopter crash in hawaii. the teen along with three family members were visiting from canada when their tour helicopter crashed into the water near the pearl harbor visitor center. he was trapped under water and had to be cut free from his seat. two of the family members are in stable condition. the third was treated and released. no word on the status of the pilot who was taken to the separate hospital. federal agents are investigating the crash. bill cosby's wife camille testified under oath yesterday in the defamation lawsuit against her husband but she's not done yesterday. during the nearly seven hour deposition at a massachusetts hotel, mrs. cosby reportedly only answered questions for only 2 1/2 hours. another round of questioning has been scheduled for march 14th. according to the plaintiff's

attorney, lawyers objected to questions more than a dozen times citing spousal privilege. mrs. cosby's lawyers have argued that her corporations with her husband are confidential under the law. but the plaintiff's lawyers contend she was also his business manager. bill cosby is facing a civil suit brought against him by seven women claiming he defamed them by denying the sexual assault allegation and mr. cosby has repeatedly denied the allegations made by dozens of women accusing him of assault back to 1960s. he's countersued the seven women, saying they defamed his character. let's get down to business with cnbc's landon dowdy. >> good morning. bill and melinda gates want to create clean energy and the annual letter from their foundation they framed their argument around a question once posed by high school students,

much fun. it might happen. >> you never know, well, we'll know soon enough. let's start with the shakeup with ted cruz firing rick tyler. >> they're clearly in a mess. marco rubio getting the exclamation points from the old jeb campaign and cruz has had to spend the last couple of days why he's not a cheat and a liar. that's not where you want to be when going into the nevada caucuses. >> okay. well, let's talk about nevada because the race donald trump obviously he's in the lead. and marco rubio and ted cruz they're pretty much neck and neck. what are we supposed to expect in nevada? >> be careful on polling because nobody how it will turn out. will people turn out and will they hang around? you have to watch that very closely. i would say if marco rubio ends up in second again, you know they'll give another big victory speech. they don't have to win to give victory speeches but that will put cruz in a real squeeze right now.

it will be a lot more than rick tyler. >> with it being so close, do you expect high card standoffs or tie breakers out there? >> somehow or another, trump will throw elbows at both of them. keep an eye on trump's twitter feed. that would be my advice. >> very -- >> they pretty much hate each other at this point. so we'll get a lot of why would stuff. >> all bets are on the table on that one. >> yeah. by the way, you seem to know a lot about gambling. >> nothing about it at all. well, we'll move to south carolina now. >> no one gambles. >> saturday is a big deal in south carolina and hillary, you know, this might be a big chance to secure the lead here. especially with the minority voters. because of the win in nevada. now she's coming on to south carolina. what should we expect there? >> yeah, you know, it's getting harder and harder for bernie sanders to make a plausible argument that he really can win this. i mean, hillary keeps inches ahead one step at a time. all the polls in south carolina are going her way. i do feel like the momentum is heading her direction.
