5:00 pm
in the history of the united states and i say it from front of these lying, thieving reporters, they're the worse. by the way, if i say it, and it's wrong, they'll have a big headline. in the history of the country there's never been anything like this. the republicans were not doing exactly well. we had stiffs like mitt romney running for office who failed so badly. who, by the way, that should have been an easy election. we're running against a failed president, and he fails to show up. the last month, what happened to him. he failed to show up and he got creamed. he got beaten badly. sadly, but he got beaten badly. we have millions of people -- get out of here. get out of here. get them out.
5:01 pm
get them out. bye bye. bye bye. by the way, do they arrest these people? what happens? do they arrest these people? i hope they arrest these people because they're violating all of us. i hope they're arrested. i hope they're arrested. honestly, they should be. you don't see this stuff
5:02 pm
happening at other rallies, let's say liberal rallies. it doesn't happen. you don't go to -- number one, you'd get very bored very quickly. i hope you arrest these people. they deserve to be arrested. some of them are very violent. i'll ask that you arrest them. i'll file whatever charges you want. if they want to do this, i say to the rest of the room, we're going to go strongly for you're arrest. i'm going to do this now on. let's ruin the rest of their lives. if they want to do this, let them have a big arrest mark. they got arrested for whatever it is, and by the way, some of these people are swinging. we don't swing. they're swinging. meaning this, they're swinging and you know what, that's not
5:03 pm
right. not right, folks. then if you swing back, it's like we were terrible. we were terrible. i hope you arrest them and do whatever you have to do. once that starts happening, we're not going to have anymore protesters. we're not going to have anymore protesters. in chicago, we had 25,000 people. we had 3 or 4,000 protesters. they all came at the exact same time, which means it's an organized deal. it's organized by the group that endorsed bernie. they said, oh, well, no, but they said they did it on moveon.org. third rate organization. they finally think they have some power. bernie doesn't draw nearly as well as we do, folks. that i can tell you. that i can tell you. we had 25,000. i had a decision to make, do i go and speak and watch an
5:04 pm
unbelievable riot where a lot of people are going to get hurt and maybe killed or do i say i'm not going to do it. i said, you know, the people will be fighting. it would have been horrible. i said, let's not do it. it turned out to be great, great decision. nobody was hurt. listen to this. nobody was hurt. i got great credit for good reaction under pressure which is always nice. you have to react under pressure. our president doesn't know how to react under pressure. our president is incompetent. he doesn't know what the hell he's doing. then one of these people from that organization, they're on one of the stations last night, they said i think we made a mistake. trump got more publicity for this than he would have gotten by speaking to 25,000 people.
5:05 pm
safety is important. today, let me just -- that was yesterday, chicago. really worked out well. a lot of -- we all got a lot of credit. frankly, so good. people weren't hurt, within reason. it was amazing the way it worked out. i'm watching a couple of programs and i'm watching shots from four hour s before like its live. i said it's can't be live because they're all dispersed. i say i just saw that 20 minutes ago. they kept rerunning it over and over like it's live television. dishonest reporting. dishonest media. very, very unfair. so, today, today, we went to cleveland second and they were incredible. we had tremendous 25, 27,000 people incredible, incredible place. before cleveland, we were in
5:06 pm
dayton, ohio. the crowd was unbelievable. really incredible. we didn't have anything like this. we had very little disruption. it was going along and the people in the front row started screaming be careful. watch it. watch it. i'm speaking. i'm saying what's this all about. i look back and there's a guy charging the stage. i mean charging. he put on a bull rush. charging the stage. the secret service was unbelievable. unbelievable. stand up. look at these guys. they were unbelievable. we have to give credit where credit is due. the secret service got a little bad publicity.
5:07 pm
they don't deserve it. the crowds have been so large, they say we've got to have secret service. these are incredible individuals. they are tough. this guy charges. this guy is charging from behind. we're in this hangar. it's much bigger than this. the room was full. we move the stage way back. it september going back. then we put a lot of people back in us. the place was packed. he jumped over a railing this high. the people next to him couldn't believe it. he was clapping like this the whole thing. he was clapping and all of a sudden, boom, he jumps out. he's charging. he's got his girlfriend in the back screaming like a total maniac. this guy is running and the secret service guys, he just got
5:08 pm
to the stage and the secret service guys hit him like you wouldn't believe. the people couldn't believe from a standing jump he was able to get a 50 inch railing. that's hard thing to do. in a certain way i guess he was in pretty good shape, but strong. he got over this railing and just phony people clapping, clapping. jumps over. tries to make a rush at me. i was ready. i don't know if i would have done well, but i would have been out there fighting. i don't know if i would have done well, but i would have been boom, boom, boom. you probably saw on television, i'm turning around. they were great.
5:09 pm
they were scared. watch out mr. trump. i turn around and see this guy just totally rushing the stage. he gets to the thing. he actually had his hand on, a couple hands on the stage. i will tell you, he got taken down. you would not believe it. he's got to be one very sore person. that's not the terrible part. the terrible part, i'm going to tell you. they bring him into a court and process him. the judge lets him go. okay. all right. if he would have gotten on stage, it would have been a probably. he was looking to do harm. this wasn't a guy that was looking to have a little fun. this was a guy looking to do harm. the judge let him go. one of my people said they found
5:10 pm
his name. it was probably isis or isis related. my people found this. they found the guying is playing all sorts of music, dragging an american flag across the sidewalk. having all sorts of things on the internet an he's probably or possibly isis related. let me tell you where i have some real problems. number one, that should have been found out. this dpie should be in jail right now. he shouldn't be out. for a judge to let him go it's incredible. it's called law and order. who said that? that man. what you said is a terrible thing. a lot of people say law and order is a terrible thing to
5:11 pm
say. law and order. you're right. you're right. who knows what will happen when they go back to get him. our toughs have to get tougher and sharper and smarter or we are very, very, we're going to be in a lot of trouble as a country. we already are. we already are. i said you're going to have some protests. by the way in dayton, other than him, it was so beautiful. in cleveland, it was beautiful. it was so beautiful. the crowd was massive. this one is packed, but it's a smaller venue. i hate to waste seats on the
5:12 pm
people we take out. i hate to waste the seats. get this guy out there. he's isis related. he went through. he was a tough cookie. he came through that thing. if these guys aren't trained, tough, tough, strong professionals, he would have gotten through easily. they were all over him. man, did he get taken down. he got taken down like a sack of powe potatoes. now the judge lets him go and they find out he's isis related or could be. he's not in love with our country. that i can tell you.
5:13 pm
we have to get tougher and smarter. we had case at the last debate before this. did i win that last debate? my daughter said and my wife said dad, darling, dad, darling, don't fight back. don't hit them. act presidential. it's very hard for me to do that. it's easy to be presidential but when somebody like little marco hits me or lying ted holds up that bible and puts it down and he lies. then everyone is wondering why i get the evangelical vote. i am a good christian. i'm not going to allow people to continue to chip away at christianity, which is what they're doing. i'm not going to allow it.
5:14 pm
i'll make you a little promgs th promise that if we win we'll be saying merry christmas again when it's christmas. you don't say it anymore. during the previous debate -- get them out of here. get out. bing bing. get them out. you can see they're dying off. you can see. they're losing their steam. we never give up, do we? we never, ever give up. we never give up. one of the moderators said to lying ted, senator cruz, born in canada, raising for four years in canada. real question. a real, real question as to
5:15 pm
whether or not he can even run. they say, that is real question. there's a length of time of people that think you have to be born on our land. he was a canadian citizen until 16 months ago. give me a break. are we supposed to have laws or be playing games? let him run. he's not going to win any way. they talked about waterboarding. you remember. waterboarding, are you in favor or against? he didn't want to answer because he doesn't like the question. he doesn't want to get involved. he liked it one way but he's politically correct. got to stop with this political correctness, folks. it's killing us.
5:16 pm
he didn't want to answer. he's a good debater but he's a bad talker. here's what happens. he didn't want to answer. then they look at me. what do you think of waterboarding, mr. trump? i didn't say it's good. in the middle east they're chopping off heads and drowning people in cages like animal. they're drowning 40, 50 people in cages. they're dumping them for one hour, pulling it up, everyone dead. i always loved history. i'd ready about different periods. i'm thinking medieval time, the chops of the heads. we only saw it with james foley. i got to know his parents. these are great people. the son was this beautiful
5:17 pm
person. that was the first we saw of it. then it happened with others. if you were christian, you were really in trouble. they're chopping off the heads of christians and anybody else that got in their way. these are animals. these are animals. i was against going into it. tchs it was a mistake to go in. it was a tremendous mistake the way obama got us out. i said keep the oil. we get nothing. you know what we get, we spent $2 trillion on a stupid war. that totally stabilized the middle east. they've been fighting back and
5:18 pm
forth. bombs, nothing happened. one of the arm. riches, oil, reserves the world. the crazy deal made by secretary kerry who is horrible. never once walked. never once walked. never once walked. i said to him, they're decapitating people. they're drowning people and chopping off heads. yes, i'm in favor of waterboarding, okay. i said, as far as i'm concerned you can go a lot stronger than waterboarding if you'd like. it works.
5:19 pm
it works. i've watched some of these weak generals say waterboarding, it works. we got a lot of information. cha their chopping off heads and drowning people by the dozens. then i fear and hear mr. trump said a horrible thing because he's not going by the law, and the law doesn't allow because of obama. he brought it up one step higher doesn't allow waterboarding anymore. i said i want to obey the laws. they chop off heads, and we talk about we can't do waterboarding. we're going home having dinner. i have dinner. you have dinner. you guys up there.
5:20 pm
boy, that's a lot of people. those are good seats. they get a good view. thank you for being here. especially thank you to the people outside who didn't get in. i think they have loud speakers but that's not the same thing. they don't get to see the action. they have dinner. we have dinner. they all have dinner. isis, we're dealing with scum. can you imagine these guys sitting around at dinner saying that the stupid americans aren't allowing waterboarding. a lot of people don't consider it torture. it's like the mildest form. some people think it's torture. some think it's don't. they cut off heads. they chop off heads and we can't waterboard. what we're doing is playing on a different field. we are rules and regulations. they have nothing. you don't win wars like that,
5:21 pm
folks. we have to increase our rules and regulations so we can play a tougher game, okay. here's something. i read it, i think it's incredible. done by al wilson years ago. think in terms of terror and terrorism. we got to stop the problem, folks. we're going to build up our military and we're going to be so strong, so powerful that nobody will mess with us anymore. nobody. here's a little poem that was written. i guess it was put in the form of a song. a friend of mine really successful said you got to read that again. you got to read it to the folks in kansas city. you got to read it. i said i'll do it. i took it out. i might have done it once or
5:22 pm
twice. i love it. i think it's great. think of this in terms of terror and in terms of terrorists. we negotiate. we bargain. sometimes you can't bargain so well. you have to show strength. on her way to work one morning -- what? is he with us or against us? are you with us or against us? sometimes somebody standing up and they are with me, i think they're protesters. are you a protester? where is this guy? i guess he's with us. ready. i hope they get thrown into a jail. they'll never do it again. it will destroy their record. they'll have to explain to mom and dad why they have a police record and why they can't get a job. you know what, i'm going to start pressing charges against
5:23 pm
all these people. okay. then we won't have a problem. i don't want to do that. i don't want to ruin somebody's life. they're probably good kids. i don't want to ruin people's lives. the only way we're going to stop this craziness is if we press charges. then they're lives will be ruined. they will know their lives will be ruined. from now on, if you do anything, we're pressing charges. okay. [ cheers and applause ] on her way to work one morning, down the path along the lake, a tender hearted woman saw a poor half frozen snake. his pretty colored skin had been all frosted with the dew. oh, well she cried, i'll take you in and take care of you. take me in oh tender woman. take me in for heaven sake.
5:24 pm
take me in oh tender woman sighed the broken snake. she wrapped him up all cozy in a curvature of silk and laid him by the fire side with honey and some milk. now she hurried home from work that night. as soon as she arrived, she found that pretty snake she'd taken and revived. take me in oh tender woman. take me in for heaven sake. take me in oh tender woman sighed the broken snake. now, she clumped him to her bosom, you're so beautiful, she cried. but if i hadn't broke you in by now, you might have died. now she stroked his pretty skin and then she kissed him and held him tight. but instead of saying thank you, that snake gave her a vicious bite. take me in oh tender woman.
5:25 pm
take me in for heaven sake. take me in oh tender woman sighed the broken snake. i saved you cried the woman and you've bit me, heavens why. you know your bite is poisonous and now i'm going to die. oh, shut up -- silly woman said the reptile with a grin. you knew damn well i was a snake before you took me in. [ cheers and applause ] right? right? there was no way i'm stopping for that maniac in the last
5:26 pm
sentence. no way. i think it's great. it's life. it's life. that's what we do. we're soft. we're weak. people take advantage of us. we're being taken advantage in trade. trade is a disaster. we're losing $500 billion dollar a year. we're supposed to have free trade. i think free trade is great. with why that we don't have free trade. we don't have free trade with anybody. we pretend it's free trade. china can tell its tax, no problems, no nothing. we can't get our products into china to sell. when we do, they charge a big, fat beautiful tax. mexico is killing us at the border and killing us like wise in trade. you have many, many, in ohio, i was making a speech in this massive, massive ex-plant. they moved. probably to mexico. the people that owned it said
5:27 pm
it's so sad what's happening. right over there is ford. they're moving. you know where they're moving? mexico. right over there is another company moving to mexico. right over there is another company moving to mexico. you know what happened with carrier and with nabisco. their big plant moving into mexico. pfizer is moving to ireland. we're losing our businesses and jobs. stupid people are telling us what we should be doing. i don't mind free trade. i'm a very conservative person. they say he can't be conservative, he doesn't believe in free trade. i don't believe in free trade. i believe in really, really smart trade where we can come out on top. that's what i believe in.
5:28 pm
thaim a free trader. you have this guy cruz that wants to approve the transpacific partnership. it's going to be a disaster for here. he's weak on illegal immigration. he wants amnesty. ted cruz is a disaster. he would be a big, big mistake. he could never beat hillary. i'm the only one going to beat hillary, assuming she can run. assuming she can run. after what she did, she should not be allowed to run, but we'll find out about that. we'll find out about that. i have the greatest people in the world as friends and enemies. i'm self-funding my campaign. i don't need anybody's money. i've had friends say donald, can i give you 10 million and i say no. i don't want it.
5:29 pm
they don't even understand it. that's never happened to them before. all my life i take. i'm a business guy. i give contributions to everybody. i take. i get greedy, take, take. i want more. now i'm going to get greedy for the united states. i'm going to take, take. all my life. these guys are asking me to take this money and i say no, no. i don't know if it's that appreciated by the voters. i don't think anybody goes into the booth -- did i hear a voice back there? do i hear had been wansomebody to prison? notice how quiet it is since i said that. when will we ever learn liberal
5:30 pm
press. it's been very quiet. anybody else want to protest? do i hear any protesters? any protesters? you can arrest her. arrest her. arrest her. here's what's going to happen. i'm going to tell carrier. my daughter and wife would say it's not presidential for your to call carrier. i would say who cares. i'm going to say, good luck in mexico. hope you build a nice building. enjoy yourself. every time you make a unit, you bring it into the united states,
5:31 pm
which has to go across real borders, you're going to pay a 35% tax. here's what's going to happen. they are going to call their lobbyist, but i can't be bought because it doesn't matter. i'm working for you, folks. they're going to call their special interest group. within 24 hours the head of carrier will call me and say mr. president, we have decided to stay in the united states. thank you, sir. here's the end of the story. we don't win anymore. we don't win at trade. we get killed with everybody. we have the worst trade deals. we're going to have the best trade deals. we're going to use the greatest business people in the world. they'll do it for nothing. they want to do it so badly. our businesses are being ripped out of country.
5:32 pm
we know $19 trillion. we owe china $1.7 trillion. we owe japan money. that's a trick, right. we owe them 1$1.5 trillion. we're going to win on trade. we're going to take care of our veterans. we're going to rebuild our military. nobody will mess with us. we're going to make it strong. nobody will play games with us anymore like they do now. nobody. we're going to bring our education local. we're going to get rid of common core. it's a disaster. we're going to repeal and replace obama care. it's going to be repealed and
5:33 pm
replaced. we're going to have strong borders. we're not going to let the drugs pour in. we're not going to let the people come in that are illegal. people with come in but they have to come in legally. we'll build a wall. we're going to build wall. mexico, as sure as you're standing here, mexico is going to pay for the wall. we have a trade deficit of $58 billion a year. these two senators come up. they said you'd they ever build a wall. now they're saying you'll never get mexico to pay. you're all smart people. if we have $58 billion trade deficit with mexico meaning they're doing much better than we're doing. it's another horrible deal. if the wall will cost us
5:34 pm
approximately $10 billion, and i'll bring it ahead of schedule and under budget, because that's what i do, okay. we're going to have a real wall. you have a $10 billion wall. guess what happens. it's really easy to get mexico to pay for the wall. once i explain it, they still don't understand it. it doesn't matter because they're controlled by lobbyists and special interests. even if they understand it, they're not going to do it. the pharmaceutical companies take care of all these people. nobody was better at this than me. eight months ago i was the ultimate in the establishment. i know the system better than anyone. we're going to fix the system. we have a broken country. we're going to win again. we're going to win with our military. we're going to knock the hell out of isis.
5:35 pm
we're going to win with our veterans. we're going to win at the border. we're not letting them chop up our second amendment. we're going to win with health care. honestly, folk, we're going to start winning so much. you're going to be so proud. tuesday, you have to go out and vote. otherwise, we're just all wasting our time. we had a good time and all that. you got to go out and vote. we have a movement going on. it's covered, all the time. time magazine, i'm on the cover so much. it's not me. you. you're on the cover. we have a movement going on. the likes of which has never been seen in this country and they say it. i couldn't say it if i didn't believe it and i couldn't say it if they didn't agree. let me tell you something, it's never been anything like this. if we don't go out on tuesday
5:36 pm
and vote because we'll beat hillary, it's going to be easy to beat hillary once we start on her. if you don't go out and vote, we've wasted our time. just remember this, go out and vote. you're going to remember this evening. you're going to say i remember that evening. two years, three years, four years from now. you'll say i remember that evening. because of that evening i went on tuesday and voted. that was one of the greatest things i ever did because you're going to be proud of your president, and you're going to be so proud of our country and we are going to make america great again. thank you. i love you. thank you. thank you, everybody. thank you. >> donald trump there spending about an hour in kansas city, missouri. interrupted at least a dozen times by protesters which he addressed and the crowd, those
5:37 pm
supporters of donald trump definitely supporting his statements of get them out, which is something we're very used to seeing during these rallies. it's a common experience if you are there to see protesters an in this case the difference here on a saturday at 7:36 local time is that yesterday, there in illinois, the unfortunate altercation that had happened there. that is why today, as we watch donald trump in kansas city, missouri, he's spending the better part of the hour, some 30, 35 minutes. this as one after another protester did stand up. it seemed to be planned that way, one twor at a time. then they were asked to leave the area. that was happening inside. we'll get to what happened outside. there were reports of symptoms that were the use of pepper pray. th -- spray. that could be the first at a
5:38 pm
rally. i want to go to betsy woodruff. we'll talk to betsy in terms of messages that came through. there were many things that he touched on. the depth might be in question in terms of policy he was using. let's start with you betsy. what stood out? >> i think the only word is surreal. this has nothing to do with policy. it's all about policies. it's about ginning up emotions and channelling them. trying to spur conflict. i was surprised when trump said he wanted to ruin protesters lives. he was encouraging police to arrest them. saying nobody is protesting. aren't you scared? where are the protesters?
5:39 pm
does anybody want protest? c trying to incite the protest that exists already. fascinating, bizarre. i think the psychology is something people will be studying for years and years. >> it's actually a technique that has been used going back to greek philosophers. as you look at this, you say it without saying and he was saying it without saying it, they should be arrested. mckay you were listening to this. saying he doesn't want to ruin their lives, but it will ruin their lives. what is the basis of them being arrested and what sort of mechanisms were put in place to allow those to get in. that's going to be one of the debatable questions. he kept ongoing back to that. >> right. he also said something that i think is worth noting and important to point out that he talked about that protester who rushed the stage at an earlier
5:40 pm
rally and secret service stopped him before he got to donald trump. he claimed this person was isis related or probably isis related or at the very least doesn't love our country. those were his words. this is a very deliberate and obvious transparent approach to cast not just that activist but in general, all the protesters, all the people who come to his rallies and interrupt and challenge him as un-american in a dangerous way. it's one thing to say you're not conservative or you don't chair my values which is pretty common. it's another to say their terrorists or terrorist sympathizers. without any proof as far as i can tell. he did that and the way he's constantly mentioning the protesters calling out they need
5:41 pm
to be dragged out. he spent the half of the first 20 minutes of his rally talking about protesters. he clearly wants these confrontatio confrontations. he's egging them on. that's important. >> i was counting the minutes, at least 30 minutes before he actually got into what might be called the meat of his speech as he started to address the issues. he did enjoy. he spent the first minutes pointing each and every one out. the protesters as they stood up. one or two at a time. he wants -- he would say these bad, bad people.
5:42 pm
then sort of setting up this confrontation not only between him and the protesters but perhaps those supporting donald trump. >> he went on fox show. he said the protesters weren't there because they disliked him but because of unemployment. he expressed empathy. i get it. a completely different person than we heard tonight. he said protesters violated us. he cancelled his event this chicago because he thought people might get murdered. he's suggesting the people protesting him are felons. that all of them by nature are sort of committing a crime. it's hard to see how intimating
5:43 pm
that protesting can lead to murder. how that's anything other than a way to incite more of the incredibly dangerous and often ugly emotions that we have seen at these rallies. we have seen tape of trump supporters talking about gas chambers. tape of trump supporters telling african-americans to go back to africa. the kind of things inconceivable. the comments that are mind boggling. we're seeing this now and seeing trump refuse to criticize it and chastise folks for that kind of language. >> stand by. we have tremaine lee outside and also watching or has witnessed another first, if you can please talk to the reports that there was some sort of pepper spray like use outside of the trump
5:44 pm
rally. >> you ke suh the protesters lined up. i saw a bunch of people running. people were holding their faces. there were people pouring milk and protester eyes. apparently there were a group of protesters who locked arms and attempted to get in the street. police officers forced them back. then there was another wave in the middle of the crowd. they said they were starting to make their wap across the street and police used pepper spray. the crowd hasn't thinned out over the last couple hours.
5:45 pm
>> all right. you can tell that we're having some technical difficulty. this as large crowds and high usage there of not only cell phones but also other digital devices that sometimes doesn't pack the broadcast. we'll get back to lee again. reporting what had happened. you see the video there. one of the individuals that was outside the trump rally this kansas city, missouri. some sort of treatment to his eyes. there were reports of milk being used to treat those who were affected by this sort of pepper spray type of gas that was around. katie is also inside of the trump rally as this was happening outside. you may or may not have known the intensity and the reporting that lee has just told us about this sort of gas that's being
5:46 pm
used. >> we don't know what was going on. there were continued protests. it didn't stop until about 30, 40 minutes into it. they were trying, many of the bernie sanders supporters wearing bernie sanders t-shirts, black lives matter were trying to disrupt the entire rally. trying to get donald trump to stop speaking. he did on a number of occasions because it got so loud and the protesters chanted and the supporters yelled usa, usa in their face. it definitely got tense. we didn't see any violence or anything like that break out within this theater. the tension was high. donald trump on stage again fans the fires saying get them out. get them out. it seems to be the new you're fired catch phrase for donald
5:47 pm
trump. he also said he thinks every one of those protesters should be arrested and he would file the charges. he doesn't want to ruin the protesters lives by getting them arrested but he does think since they continue to interrupt him, he says they should be arrested and he would file the charges. that's what was going on within the room when donald trump was saying this. i'm hearing just now that lee is outside and it's a much more tense situation outside. i can tell you that it calmed down here for the last 20, 25 minutes or so of this rally. donald trump was able to get out the rest of his stump speech without any major interruptions. as far as security goes, the secret service was clearly on edge from the very start of this campaign. local law enforcement here as well. you can see they were getting run ragged, truly run ragged as they were trying to remove
