good morning. thanks for joining us today. i'm betty nguyen. donald trump is now the presumptive nominee for president after john kasich officially suspended his campaign. >> i always said that the lord has a purpose for me as he has for everyone. as i suspend my campaign today, i have renewed faith, deeper faith, that the lord will show me the way forward. >> while there were some republican voters literally burning the registration cards in protest of trump's ascension, the establishment joined trump's side. mitch mcconnell, john mccain, susan collins, haley barbour and mike huckabee and others all offered support to the presumptive nominee. however, two former presidents will sit on the sidelines. former presidents bush 41 and 43 will not participate. a spokesman for the elder bush

he said he gained access to the unsecured server. he exclusively told nbc news, it was like an open orchid on the internet. there were hundreds of folders. he gave no proof to back up the claim and it showed no signs of hacking according to a source familiar with the case. clinton's press secretary blasted him, so we're supposed to believe that he hacked her e-mails yet decided not leak any of them? yeah right. on tuesday, she told andrea mitchell on msnbc she had no indication that her server was hacked by foreign hackers. new developments in the controversial north carolina bathroom law. the justice department says the law is a civil rights violation. the bathroom law known as hb-2 requires people to use the restroom corresponding to the gender of their birth. it's sparked protests throughout the state.
2:06 am
the civil rights division sent a letter to north carolina governor mccrory saying discriminates against people on the basis of sex. and governor mccrory has until monday to respond. if he refuses to change the law, north carolina could lose access to millions in federal dollars. the state is reeling from the law. a slew of performers from jimmy buffett to ariana grande have boycotted the state. president obama made a visit to flint, michigan. he called the water crisis a tragedy and he reassured angry residents that their frustration wasn't falling on deaf ears. >> and that's why i'm here. to tell you directly that i see you and i hear you. i also want to come here to tell you that i've got your back.
