where fewer than 2,000 votes separate the two candidates. clinton won the major metropolitan areas but look east, coal country where bernie sanders walked away with the counties. sanders campaign said they'll consider whether to ask for a recount today and spun the contest as essentially a tie in a state clinton walked away with in 2008. when it comes to delegates it is effectively tied as of this morning, nbc news allocating 26 each. brian fallon tweeted bourbon, neat. sanders came up the winner in oregon. his wife jane delivered the news while he was on stage in front of 11,000 people in california. and as the crowd loudly cheered bernie or bust, the democratic party has to watch this play out a while longer. >> let me also say a word to the leadership of the democratic party.

he said that he condemns that. i'm confidence he does. i'm confident he will be saying something about it soon. this is a test of leadership as we all know. i'm hopeful and confident that senator sanders will do the right thing. >> jeff weaver, the campaign manager, told msnbc yesterday that the party wants to quote, use this as a pretext for mistreating us at the national convention. the campaign later released a statement yesterday saying, quote, i condemn any and all forms of violence including the personal harassment of individuals. but it also goes on to read, if the democratic party is to be successful in november, it is imperative that all state parties treat our campaign supporters with fairness and the respect that they have earned. the dnc chairwoman debbie wasserman schultz had this to say -- >> the fact that the sanders campaign has issued a but in between condemnation of violence and frustration over the process seems to excuse their

supporters' actions which is unacceptable. okay, let's turn to the republicans. presumptive nominee donald trump easily won oregon. by it's worth noting that ted cruz and john kasich both took home 17% of the vote each. nbc news awarded them each two delegates. and so with potentially devastating polling numbers unfavorability, donald trump is seeking to recalibrate his image, telling "the washington post" he might explain past controversies at speeches as they're raised in the attack ads from hillary clinton and allied groups. trump launched into the defense of the wild arm movements he did to criticize "the new york times" reporter which many found to be mocking the reporters joint disability. quote, i would never say anything bad about a person that has a disability, trump said. leaning forward at the office desk, i swear to you it's 100% true. who would that do to the handicapped? i have spent a lot of money

tactics like we're seeing in baghdad and elsewhere. even in places in europe. the u.s. says it will continue to provide training and support to the iraqi security forces. more than 60 years after brown versus of the board of education, new reports that the schools have segregated economically. the percentage of schools with high concentrations of poor black and hispanic students grew from 9 to 16%. the report found that those schools offered disproportionately fewer math, science and college prep courses and had higher rates of suspensions, expulsions and students who were held back in the ninth grade. the report comes days after a federal court ordered schools in the mississippi town of cleveland to desegregate. the ruling ends a five year legal battle and means that the town's two middle schools and high schools must now merge. still ahead on "way too early," is the nba lottery draft

off with an 8-5 victory. and in atlanta, after dropping to the mlb worst 9-28 the braves have fired the manager gonzalez. according to the "atlanta journal constitution", he found out he was going to be fired about an hour after monday's loss to the pirates. he got an e-mail from the airline notifying him he was scheduled to fly back on tuesday while the braves continue playing in pittsburgh through thursday. he will be replaced by the manager of atlanta's aaa affiliate who will serve as the interim manager through the end of the postseason. major league baseball has suspended rangers second baseman odor for hitting bautista. while a total of 14 players and staff were disciplined by the league for their involvement in the brawl, at least one group is benefiting from the incident. oh.
