he jumps on any theory out there. how is it to his advantage? >> that's the reality tv portion of our program. that's something that feeds the masses and has fed the masses that have come into trump world going back some 10, 15 years now. there is that piece of it that he is consistently using because it works. it's an attention grabber. it's leading the news. it's going to be in the front page tomorrow. that piece is there. i think part of what joy said is also part of the mix. putting the sand bags out and saying if you want to come after me, come after me, but i'm bringing some folks with me. that will be bill and hillary clinton. the third piece is drawing the clintons out. he wants to let hillary clinton though this will not be easy.

hillary clinton has turned her focus to donald trump. bernie sanders refuses to give

up. now he predicts the convention will be messy. that's what he told the associated press yesterday. >> if they make the right choice and open the doors to working class people and young people create the what the democratic party needs, it's going to be messy. democracy is not always nice and quiet and gentle. that is where the democratic party should go. >> you think the convention could be messy? >> every day my life is messy. if you want everything to be quiet and orderly and allow just things to proceeds without vigorous debate, that's not what democracy is about. >> he asked to clarify what he meant. >> messy means the media takes words out of context. the context of that was that democracy is messy. that people will have vigorous

debate on the issues. >> will the convention be messy? >> of course it will be. that's what democracy is about. >> how can you argue this primary battle is not hurting her in a general election? >> first of all, i guess if we take your assumption and clinton supporters that the logical conclusion, you know what we should do, we should not have any elections at all, not any debates at all. why don't we appoint somebody to become our king or president. >> is he sitting up in a tree. i've never seen him look so much taller than kristen welker. they requested a recanvass. is he that tall? he was looming over you. just kidding.

kentucky. he wants to go with as many delegates as possible. that's why he's fighting so hard in california. it's going to be tough to win the nomination. if he wins a state this big, he'll have more leverage heading into that convention. >> i think he's going to the t mattresses. he's going to be tough. you were pretty critical. he has convinced himself he's the face and voice of a revolution. if you're running a revolution it's difficult to head back to the green mountains. he does act as if the scoreboard is some great big lie even when the numbers are up there for everybody to see. i agree with your column. i don't think he's operating in the same world that hillary clinton and the objective journalists are. >> he keeps saying that the system is rigged. he makes it sound like they changed the rules of baseball on

donald trump, this is not helping. three. i get a little unnerved at times. i'm more of a moderate liberal democratic. some take us as not being aggressive and progressive as they are as if they have a monopoly on the democratic party. i think at some point this line here is probably what's going to bring an end to this campaign. a call for almost a messiness and a violence like what we saw in nevada. if that's what he is looking for in nevada, they will say you have raised an important race and addressed the issues. you'll have an opportunity to make the case but we have to move on because we have a serious opponent on the republican side if he wins will undo what barack obama has done. we cannot risk that. >> let's talk about how he puts the breaks on. how does he put the breaks on at the speed he's going because he's promising free college tuition? how does he back down for that?

lifetime health care. how do you pull back from that? huge increase in social security. he goes into that drafting committee and how does he come out of it and say i've done a great job here and moved the party to the left and can turn it over to hillary. how does he do that running at this speed? >> i think that's the huge challenge for him right now. you can also feel that the campaign is trying to figure it out. they have come this far. so many people feel as though he has run a great campaign. how does he land this plane in a way that does speak to the desires of all of his supporters and allows them to get behind hillary clinton. that's not his top prpriority. it's making sure the policies get into the democratic platform. i think compromise will be a big word. hillary clinton has to walk a fine line. she can't go too far to the left in a general election against donald trump.

she's been pretty clear that she's not going to adopt all of his policy positions. there's going to have to be a lot of compromise involved in that. i asked him, is he calling for his supporters to protest if he doesn't get what he wants at the convention. he sort of sidestepped that question and said i feel confident that we will be able to reach some agreement. i think that is what he's doing to be looking for. maybe not all of those policy positions that you just mapped out but a few of those and he's really the lynch pin to rally those younger voters. a lot of them saying they will not support secretary clinton in a general election. >> you're reading all this in venezuela, they claim voter fraud. there's never an election where the loser doesn't say claim voter fraud. when they win they arrest the person who lost the election and throw them this jail. they hang them.

you listen to trump and burr kn -- bernie sanders, it's beginning to sound like a third world count country. when is the last time you heard a decent concession speech from bernie sanders or trump. why doesn't anybody do that anymore? we lost. >> chris, there's also this conceit here. believe me, i can see how passionate senator sanders followers are. only people the voting for him matter in this election. i have a feeling that the guys who want trump to win, they think the same way. i keep asking this, what's the end game here. you keep hearing all this third party talk. doesn't it seem that bernie sanders is running a third party campaign already? >> yeah. >> the big difference between trump and sanders, at least trump got enough delegates to

the significance is this, of the 50 or so women who have accused him over a period of decades of some type of sexual misconduct, this is the first time he's going to face trial on criminal charges and could go to prison if convicted. at this point they have not set a trial date. today's hearing focused on the police report filed by the accuser who said that bill cosby gave her pills that made her feel woozy and after that she could not stop his unwanted sexual advances. this was not the face-to-face confrontation that many people thought would happen here. andrea was not in court. the judge said that she did not have to be in court because the burden of proof was lower for this preliminary hearing than it would be for a trial. cosby's attorneys have tried to get this thrown out of court for the last five or six months without success. the judge, today, did set the arraignment for july 20th. before he left here today, he
