causes massive damage to homes. good morning, everybody, thanks for joining us today. hit isis near the iraqi city of fa ju ja, killing 250 islamic state fighters. they have not independently verified the reports. video purportedly shows the air strikes starting after an isis convoy was fleeing just outside of the city. at least 40 vehicles carrying fighters and weapons were apparently destroyed. if confirmed, the strikes are among the deadliest ever against isis and this comes just days after fallujah was liberated. police have raided a series of turkeys in istanbul this morning. they are targets -- according to the state-run agency, counterterrorism police led by special forces carried out the raids in several low-income

areas. it's not clear that the raids are in direct tloing the airport attack. no group has taken responsibility for that attack as of this morning. however, the ataturk airport is up and running. while america's cia chief says the massacre in istanbul bares the mark of isis, he is warning of potential attacks here at home. nbc's pete williams has more. >> reporter: the deadliest and most complex attacks carried out by isis have struck overseas in paris, brussels and istanbul, he said he would be surprised if the terror group isn't plotting terror attacks overseas and here at home. >> if anybody here believes the u.s. homeland is sealed and that daesh or isil would not consider that, i think i would guard against that. >> other intelligence officials says the battle against isis has

not reduced its global reach or to incite attacks around the world. in the u.s., the biggest threat has been people inspired to attack by the group's relentless propaganda in internet videos and social media. the fbi concluded that the husband and wife who killed 14 people in san bernardino were inspired by ies is and the gunman who shot up an orlando nightclub pledged his allegiance to isis. >> as they're losing territory, as they're losing their central narrative of this caliphate, this state they're creating, they will try to inspire through the internet these lone wolf types of attacks. >> reporter: in the past two and a half years, federal agents have arrested 93 people in the u.s. on isis-related charges. average age 26. three quarters are american citizens. more than half were arrested

trying to get to syria. they've seen that number drop csignificantly in the past several months. with two overseas airport attacks in just the last four months, there are concerns over how u.s. airports can be made safer. nbc's tom ka sell low has more. >> reporter: at select u.s. airports, miami, new york, atlanta and lachltd, a high profile police presence both in the terminals and outside watching airport perimeters and arriving traffic. at jfk airport, a suspicious traffic closed terminal five for a short time. the istanbul attack comes as fourth of july traffic takes off. >> you'll see canines and uniforms. you won't see undercover officers out and about. >> reporter: the question is whether the first security check point should be moved away from the terminal, perhaps outside to the dropoff curb or across the

his attacks on the judge calling him a mexican, his response to orlando, firing his campaign manager, he bungled his response to brexit. all these added up. states that were not considered competitive are in play. president obama is going to campaign on behalf of hillary clinton in north carolina. now the democrats can afford to be aggressive there. knowing that will pull their resources away from the rust belt where they need to concentrate. >> let's talk about being aggressive for just a second. given that clinton is outspending trump by a large margin on ads, will trump discover that, hey, maybe it was a bad business move not to pour money into ads? >> it sounds funny to say it, but donald trump needs money. you cannot run a national campaign without -- even if you're immensely -- if you are a billionaire. think of it this way, with hillary clinton and donald trump, these are two iconic

well, there is a news, in fact, of a wardrobe change at one of the country's most famous pageants. organizers of miss teen usa say they're ditching the swim suit competition and adding athletic wear competition. if you're concerned about your teen taking racy selfies, instead of getting mad, how about getting even. that is what this dad decided to do when he trolled his daughter's photos. he recreated every detail from his daughter's duck face to her bare midmidriff. he may have felt that was racy. >> his are more racy than her's. >> she had a good sense of humor
